Traveling to Matet

So I am trying to get back to Matet. I haven't played in a while and just now getting back into it. It told me it couldn't route a path because the jump was too far. So I chose a system right next to matet and it routed just fine. I got there, and now I am like 5ly away from matet, but it still won't route. I have checked route settings, ect. I should be able to jump it just fine in the ship I'm in. I don't quite understand why it won't route to matet. Also, seems to route to anything else fine, just not Matet. Any help would be appreciated!

You're probably locked out of the starter area, which Matet is part of. If you gained a rank in anything (which doesn't take much at all) then you get locked out of the starter area once you leave.

Well shoot! So how do I retrieve my ship that's stored there?

You can get it delivered
Go to any starport, go to shipyard and on the right you have the list of your ships, where you can pay a small fee for delivery

ships can be delivered from station to station for a fee and a time. My first " home base" outside of the starter zone was Ehecatl, which i am pretty sure is like right next door to Matet. transfer fee should be small and quick.
