Up to 1.5 if you own an newer AMD Graphics card.
The higher the scaling, the better the graphics.
I started the tutorial, maybe you can help me a little more.
1) Currently I play with mouse and keyboard, maneuvering the ship is a little creepy or at least not the way other games it do. Do you have just to get used of it or is it recommended to get a flightstick?
2) The hints in the tutorial a little short living, in my first try I didn't catched a lot of them. I get somewhere through it. Then, when I have the combat mission there is the mega ship. It seems a real obstacle, as I ended somewhere in the shadows of it with no opttion to move (no acceleation possible). I quit the game and started now again. This time I could watch a little more what happened. Again, this time much earlier, after a crash with the ship, I cannot move. The trainer gives no comment. But the cockpit is flashing with red lights. I found a on the display a marked "Massstopp" (I guess, "Massesperre" in my German translation". I guess it's a hint for some damage. Any advices? I guess I have to start once more... but I do want again end stuck at the big ship.
Even if I see a lot of really good and exiting things, it seems the beginning of the game is not very smooth. But I guess you would say it's worth to go through the rough start?
Personal preference. I find it a lot more fun with a pair of flight sticks... Keyboard and mouse just feels totally wrong for this sort of game. Plenty of people do play with mouse and keyboard though... However, most of them don't use the default controls. I think the most common change is swapping yaw and roll around...?
Don't worry too much about the advanced combat tutorial for now. Loads of us couldn't get through the first time we tried. Once you've got your controls sorted, and have a bit of experience using them that tutorial becomes much easier.
"Massesperre" directly translates to "ground lock" in English (according to google). Pretty sure it's meant to be "Mass lock". There's two different things to look out for:
1. Planetary/station mass locks are indicated by a light on the bottom right of your screen. They prevent you from charging your FSD (jump drive). Just fly away from them until the light goes out.
2. Ships mass lock factors. If you're flying near a ship that's heavier than yours, you'll be subjected to their MLF (mass lock factor). This doesn't stop you charging your FSD, but it does make it charge much slower than usual.
It IS a rough start. The game doesn't hold your hand... It's a very unforgiving universe. And it doesn't get easier any time soon... The learning curve is often referred to as a cliff/wall. Well worth it though, if you're into this sort of game.
Keep asking questions if you don't understand something, most of us are happy to help newbies learn the ropes
Matter of preference. Sticks/throttle/pedals are better for enthusiasts, much smoother flight and more immersive. Mouse is more accurate for aiming if you're just tryong to max PVP.
