Certain patterns it's a lost cause, and you have to basically give up on one (even two) to course correct. If you don't tap on a body as it's falling (maybe you click the area near shoulder and neck), there's a high chance you won't grab - which is great when they're falling at the extreme sides & the pattern is obnoxious, like 3-1-3-2-1-3-2-1 (which does happen semi-regularly).
On top of all that, sometimes you hit the "W" or up key so fast, it doesn't register the tap, which can throw a run down the drain. So that's neat. Bad enough that I'm grabbing ♥♥♥♥♥ falling from the sky, but 6 minutes of it? When there's no visible timer or anything? FFS.
Final edit: Have just done it - had a whole heart to spare before I reached the mark on v3.01 (latest). Like guides have said, stay in the middle, and try not to do double taps of the up key too fast (even though you're bound to from nerves). Don't look at a timer - the game won't cheat you; if you reach it, the achievement will post.
In beta all the dads move much faster, and about after 1 minute the speed increases.
In current version the dads seem to move much slower, and the speed increases gradually, not all at sudden.
So don't listen to those who tell you to download the beta, you'll just make your task harder.
I'd been stuck on this since launch, and had tried the beta; still couldn't beat it; just idly hankering for a bit of scrubbing recently, and tried again... and got the 3 minute one with latest version, stood in the centre. So stay with the most recent I'd say. Now for 6 minutes and the final achievement, legitimately. The real dad, the real way.
