Rare: sumbit 9+ word to get random common uncommon mods,
Rare: +5 to sold mods
Uncommon: sold mods will convert to plays instead of refresh
Uncommon: legendary or rare likely to appear
Rare: score multiplied to the price of sold mods (does not stack)
The first 3 mods will give you a literal endless. I just beat it last night and I'm continuing to complete the A-Z challenge
Downside is you won't have refresh
So might as well get the mod sumbit 8+ word to get random upgrade where most of the time gives you a somewhat a refresh.
Pretty demanding rng, sad to say. It took me a lot of tries.
Without infinite plays, you need to be scoring ~5000 points on average to keep up with the number of plays you net per round. I don't think I've had a single play exceed 4000 points, and haven't been able to get a build going that could reliably put up more than about ~1200 per turn. There are definitely some combos that can get there, but they would take too long to set up and you'd run out of turns. I genuinely don't think it's currently possible without some form of play count abuse. Definitely needs a fix.
I'm confident that, had my luck with fragile emeralds been just a little bit better, I would have beaten Ultramarathon mode with that run. It's definitely possible but it hinges on having some very good luck.
- x2 if first and last letter are vowels
- x2 if first letter = last letter
- x2 if the first letter is the same as the last letter of the previous word
- x2 if the word has no E
then, I basically started spamming words that started and ended with A to get all the modifiers to trigger. i made as many copies of A's as I could using upgrades and I was able to just barely win on round 20. with this setup, the points from mods alone would score 5840 every time, not even accounting for the points from letters or long words. most important thing is just being able to keep playing words that start and end with A, and don't have an E in them. (if you have a different fourth multiplier instead of that last one, E-E words are easier to make than A-A words and there are more E's in the letterbag, but since I needed all four multipliers to trigger i had to make do with A's).

hope this helps!
I had 2 legendary perks and used a word finder to send 9+ letter words every turn (as an experiment).
I still lost.
