Snakebird is a 2015 hardcore puzzle game by Noumenon Games. The long and short of why this review is negative, is that, from the overwhelmingly positive review score and friendly appearance, I expected a nice and relaxing puzzle game. Unfortunately, this game is one of those "if you don't think 50 moves ahead and execute the moves exactly as the developer intended, then you're just going to be bashing your head against a wall or running a step-by-step YouTube guide in the other window and bashing your head against a wall. If you enjoy puzzle games that make you think outside of the box and have multiple possible solutions and/or their mechanics lie in their mechanical brilliance and cleverness of design (i.e. Portal 1 and 2), then Snakebird isn't for you. It's a simple, unimaginative concept rolled up into an unbearably hard crust of difficulty.

Snakebird doesn't feature much of a traditional difficulty spike, as I would describe the feeling of stepping from one level to another as going from an active warzone, to accidentally stumbling your way into a testing site for the Tsar Bomba.
