I stopped after about 10 hours, should I go back to it or not. If not, what would people recommend for a similar but better experience?

Seriously deep red negatives? I never seen a game more undeserving of negativity, its illogical the way the "fans" have trashed this game. A game that's fun, paced, casual but not simple like some trash mystic quest style baby rpg, funny, light hearted, colorful, great graphics, runs well... Replay, just so many positives this game has and yet, deep red negative like its superman 64 or something? Meanwhile its sequel which is a little edgy gets positive? Frickin crazy... I mean its one of my fav rpgs, not...

I'm tolerating the combat so far, but on Moderate difficulty as I get further in, gear matters more and more and I'm hating it so much. It feels like a grind fest rather than just picking up natural upgrades from chests and shops. The gear skill system is so obtuse and the game throws absolute brick walls of abstract information at you without teaching you the actual concepts. I feel like I'm playing a Korean mobile gacha game with loot and hoping I get something that makes me actually able to win fights ...
