Tried playing it with both options and each time it just opens the DOS box screen, then the screen goes black, and nothing happens. Game broken?

It's Russian made game after all.

ive been looking to buy a boxed copy of this game but it seems like there is next to no information ive been able to find, all i know is that it was made by russians and sold in countries like russia and vauely in europe (i assume in the uk aswell) anyone have more information on this game somewhere and if there are boxed copies/jewel cases?...

Does this game feature NPC allies? The fields are so open i would hope that some semi-useful allies would be in the battles. I am an AI nut and it also adds immersion.
