wont let me select fullscreen just stays on window and wont let me select 1920x1080

The game keeps crashing when I'm on the world map and navigate to the System Plans (but no problem with that when I'm in a dungeon). When I try to do Stella's Dungeons the game crashes mostly too. Both happens when it's the first thing I do after starting the game. The game freezes for a few seconds, black screen, graphic driver error message.
