Lost my progress.

So, I had been keeping the game open since teh new update, playing and grinding. Closed it today to restart my PC.

all my progress? gone out the window.
Apparently there is no save? how is this possible? absolutely makes no sense.

I am really pissed off atm, because i feel like it takes way too long to grind some of the achievements, and now I have to start all over again

not sure if I found the right appdata folder, in appdata > local > v9
my data.ini seems to be fine, no abnormalities there, but the game just is reset even though the data.ini seems to be what I had previously.

Reinstalling the game didnt work.

my search continues...

found another appdata folder in local that responds to the game being open, called... well.. game. it also has a data.ini file inside it, but that data.ini file is full of unrecognizable nonsense like this: $@çîno?g3óâ˜K«hmNÜIF¢V×ÀX\"= ò!Ý8*

tried switching that to my data.ini file that I know had my previous stuff in it, like I mentioned above, but didn't work.

for all i know this folder has nothing to do with the game xD

both ini files are readable on my end. Sounds like your ini file in the "game" folder got corrupted.

The "game" folder ini file is also the active one.

If you don't mind you could upload your ini files so I can test if they are encrypted/corrupted on my end as well?

the other .ini was just a bunch of random text that doesnt mean anything so i dont think that needs to be posted.

also! I tried overwriting the .ini with a friend's .ini but that had no effect at all. Reinstalling the game (with appdata deleted completely) didnt do anything either. i cant for some reason replicate this problem either.

C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\game is correct, thats where the game saves all the data from the game.

yeah that one is definitely corrupted then. I tried overwriting that .ini as well and it got corrupted when I opened the game after a reinstall.

okay I tried the reinstall again with deleting the appdata folder as well and now it seems to be not corrupted anymore.. but still, all of my progress has been lost :(

i take that back, after I opened the game, after checking if the ini was not corrupted anymore, it got corrupted again.

Ok.. did some testing.

closing the game excrypts the data.ini in the game folder, thats why the weird symbols etc.

If the game is running then the file will be readable. The question would be. Is your new progress saved?

if it is weird symbols when game is not open, then how do i edit my progress back?
and yeah it does save my progress, like I said previously, i cant for some reason replicate my first issue of loosing the progress.

Alrighty, got a .ini file that was bunch of those weird symbol gibberish from a friend who was just a little bit before me in progress, so I will be going with that :)

won't be long to go back to where I was.
