Until the focus goes back on the puzzles I will not be backing or buying another game at full price.
But I'm a little split.
On the one hand, yes, I am happy that you are exploring this game again, it is my favourite and to see it wit new graphics and some in-depth mystery/clue gameplay would be awesome! On the other hand I'm worried how you are going to approach it. Your recent ventures into SH has slowly pulled away from mystery/clue focus and more into action/adventure.
Furthermore, you're putting this in the 'Sherlock is Younger' category which also worries me. Sherlock Holmes is a well established, brilliant character, and for around 7 out of your current 9 games you captured him well. Now you're trying to modernise him. To be frank, although I will be supporting the project and following it, I am going to keep a healthy dose of scepticism in my excitement.
Chapter One already turned him into 'Shirley'. I wish you'd stop trying to be 'one of the cool kids' and just go back to Crimes and Punishments.
My sentiments exactly! I wish they'd remember why people loved their games. Their most popular game was Crimes and Punishments and they still pull away from it. I don't understand, honest to God, I just don't.
The really great part about Awakened was that it was, truly, mystery focused. It kept its feet on the ground. Despite using the Lovecraft theme, the team really understood that what made SHERLOCK HOLMES great was the mystery. If they can remember that with the remake, I really think you'll enjoy it!
