Achievements... those strangers...
Hello!

Anyone knows what should I do to get the achievements "Empathy" and "Who has two thumbs..." ?

I have some thoughts about it:

Empathy:
looking at the champion's combat method, I suppose that this should be achieved with him.

Who has two thumbs...:
"... and can dual wield" says the description... that makes me think about the Sorcerer's gifts, but I haven't noticed if he give them more than once per game.
In that case the achievement could be totally random.

Sharing your thoughts would be appreciated even if you know as much as me.

I could also use some tips/pointers for Empathy. Also I have no idea how to unlock "Mutually Assured Destruction."

I unlocked it by answering to the druid in a way that killed both me and the troll.
You need the luck of having the right question at the right moment.

You can also get Mutually Assured Destruction by flaming out at the same time you take down your opponent with a harsh attack that costs both sides reputation.

I was thinking... maybe "Who has two thumbs..." is related to playing with a controller?
I see there is controller support for this game, however I am one controller short to try.

Just unlocked 'Who has two thumbs...'

Not 100% certain but I am pretty sure I unlocked it by getting two weapons/items in the same run, so you just need to get lucky with the 'Social Justice Sorceror'. I got the axe of something and the sword of something else.

Oh, thanks for confirming it.
: )

I feared it was luck based.

I was a Champion at the time, so maybe that has something to do with it. Just went in as a Paladin and blocked like crazy before getting both the weapons.

There's still more than a few I have no idea about though. Poisoned dagger? Empathy? (Though I can guess that's one for winning against a Troll Warlord as a Champion by gaining their respect.) And the Bard and the Necromancer just don't like me as much as the others. *Sniff*

Still a kind of fun, if a tad unclear, game though.

Okay, all achievements solved (I think)

After looking at an update on the dev's site, it looks like after the Troll Warlord, there's actually still one more kind of troll, the 'Troll Assassin'. I'm guessing that 'Poisoned Dagger' is gotten for beating him, and that 'Empathy' is for beating him peacefully.

I've done about 50 semi-decent runs of the game but never made it to the Troll Assassin yet, but if I ever do make it I'll come back and let people know if that's the right thing to do.

I can confirm that you get Poisoned Dagger when you beat the Troll Assassin, but I think that you should get it also if you beat him peacefully, because the description says "Survive the Troll Assassin", and you survive beating him by any means.

However it's something to test.

Thanks for your update.

Survived the Troll Assassin by lucking out and managing to stay as a Social Justice Champion for 8 turns in a row, got Poisoned Dagger.

Now I'm just missing Empathy and I have no idea how to get it. Convert 10 trolls in a row or something?

Direct word from devs on 'Empathy' Achievement.

"Each Champion attack increases empathy counter on the troll so the longer you keep battling one, the better chances. Esp. rabid"

There's still a lot of luck involved; I landed a whole lotta consecutive champion attacks on a rabid troll and didn't get it yet. It's really hard to last 14 turns as a Social Justice Champion when your moves drain your stats and trolls are free to summon whomever they please to wreck you. But at least now I know what I'm supposed to do. It's very awesome that the devs answered my question directly on Twitter, that was very nice of them.

Oh, now that I know I'll try for sure!
Thanks for sharing the info.

I'll try to use the druid questions to my advantage.

Just got the "Who has two thumbs..." achievement, it was really about the luck of receiving 2 items from the sorcerer.

Done, against an Internet Troll, thanks also to the Ranger that lowered his reputation enough to let me land more attacks.
: )

Thank you very much, Elmo3000, I wouldn't know what to do without you.

How does one get the "There's always another way" achievement? Anyone knows?
