There definitely needs to be a better option for acquiring rare stuff. Give it to the trader in the Cauldron. Price it at a reasonable 50 souls a card. It's way better to farm the Cauldron for a week than to never drop them even from extensive farming of areas with heaps of Champions.
Well, given that many people seem to be missing them, I would say the loot table is messed up. I am going to give VV a break of a few months until they can fix all the issues with these expansions.
Come to think of it, all those weapon type-specific cards are rarely seen, including old ones before new DLCs. And if I recall correctly, all 3 guitar / revolver cards I've got are all dropped in the Motorhead world.
This could well be a result of bad luck & small sample size, though. But I didn't even see a single non-legendary guitar / revolver weapon dropped in Zagoravia / The Fractured World. Purely by observation, I'd say that the drop tree (or drop table) isn't quite ideal for my liking. Imagine that you can't farm shako from Mephisto in Diablo II just because "unique shako is introduced in LoD expansion".
Unfortunately he will never sell guitar or revolver destiny cards, but he might sell the new cards for the old weapons (Trio, Edge, Harvest, Golem, Wild Magic, Thunderstorm, Trebuchet, Trigger).
