After a recent update the game doesn't even boot up anymore. Funny how it happened after they announced a rather poor looking, DLC-bait sequel.

An update on 12/20 removed the Firaxis launcher which makes this game unplayable. I have over 300 hours in Civ 5 most of which are on my current PC. Per the Steam Community page i am not the only one having this issue. The timing of this, over Christmas with the launch of Civ 7 DLC is very concerning and hopefully not indicative on a direction the gaming community is headed.

This is a wonderful game that 2K, in their infinite wisdom, have suddenly torpedoed more than a decade after its release with an update that has broken the game for many players, including me. Suddenly not being able to even launch the game I've been playing for years is painful.
