Interesting enough, three of the games that got delisted from here appear on nintendo switch online
Weird huh? Did Sega make a license agreement with nintendo over their classic games maybe? Strange how the games got delisted here, at least three of them, now are on nintendo switch online.

You can read about it here.

The only one is MERC on the sega classic edition games on here?
To be fair, most of the other games from this collection are already on Nintendo's online service.

Which makes me think could they have a licensce with nintendo to put them on their online store? IS that one possibly reason why there getting delisted here? Because the license does not allow the games to be put on other stores? Nintendo has done stuff like this alot, and with many games too. I would not be suprised if they did something like this.
Well if most of these games were on Nintendo's service before they were delisted, that would make me wonder why they suddenly decided to have an exclusivity agreement. Unless Sega's got a ton more games to offer Nintendo (which actually would explain the delisting of the Dreamcast games), I can't see why the deal would change.

I initially thought this collection's delisting might have had something to do with the remakes or reboots or whatever they're doing with a bunch of their franchises, but it would make more sense to me to leave these up to generate interest in the newer versions.

I suppose it's also possible there were hidden costs linked to keeping these available that we don't know about and they were just delisted because they weren't selling enough to keep them up.

For now, all we can do is speculate.

Hidden costs you mentioned is a good guess in my opinion, probably something related to music rights, but maybe not.

As for the possible secret agreement with Nintendo - well, the only reasonable reason I can see is that Switch Online is a monthly paid subscription service which could potentially generate money for years for keeping the old games. Steam could sell the game once and ask for some service fees every year (not sure about this, but I heard that there are fees for keeping the game).
I very much doubt Sega will just keep their games on Nintendo platforms. Since Nintendo uses a subscription service it's probably the fact the games make money so far on there. I expect some things with that will change when Sega bring back their games in a new collection and the next Nintendo platform is released.

Could be anything, but I don't expect much to change. The next Nintendo console is Switch 2 and Switch Online is not going anywhere, and I believe that the next generation console from Nintendo would retain same Switch Online service, with or without rebranding.

As for the SEGA, they might re-release their old titles collection for every generation of consoles and continue to receive money from Switch Online and other such services all at the same time.

Yeah I think they'll just end up creating a new collection.
Still available right now. i think they may get delisted on monday possibly or when steam does it maintenance. Sega lying about it again to FOMO fool us all?
