So does the Steam Version have the updates automaticly, like modern controller support is super important to me?
Steam version has always had controller support, the catch is Alpha Protocol only fully supports xinput controllers(either official xbox 360 / xbox one controllers or their off-brand variants.) This is still true for the gog version.
