[Mod] Colorblind-Safe Token Recolor
This mod will recolor all game tokens to be more visually distinguishable for those with a color-vision deficiency. It will also restore Passion and Sentiment tokens to their original shape during the bedroom game instead of the circular design. And trait icons in the HunieBee now match the shape and color of their corresponding Affection token type as well.

Unfortunately, I'm not actually colorblind myself, so it's difficult to test how it looks. Sorry if the color choices seem arbitrary or still appear confusing to you. Let me know if anything needs changing and I'll see what I can do!

To install:
  1. Extract the files into the game's install directory alongside "HuniePop.exe"
  2. Run "patcher.bat" to modify the appropriate files
  3. Make sure no errors have occurred and "sharedassets0.assets" exists in the "HuniePop_Data" folder
  4. Play the game and enjoy dating girls with distinct colors!

To uninstall:
  1. Open the "HuniePop_Data" folder inside the game's install directory
  2. Delete "sharedassets0.assets" or rename to something else
  3. Rename "sharedassets0 BACKUP.assets" to "sharedassets0.assets"
  4. Alternatively, verify the game cache from HuniePop's Properties menu if it is the Steam version
  5. Play the game with the boring default colors

To-do: Recolor the "preferred token" colors in the UI.
Recolor any text references to tokens.
Recolor particles that appear when matching tokens.

Note: I have only tested this on 64bit Windows 7 and HuniePop ver 1.2.0 (V-Day patch). I don't guarantee anything on earlier or later versions, it might not even be compatible on Linux/Mac (the .bat file wouldn't work regardless), and it would probably conflict with any other mod you might have or will install.

And to the devs: I am not distributing any of the game's files, as I'm using a method to patch in only my changes without requiring any special tools that might be used for dubious means. Both as a courtesy to players with the reduced filesize, but also towards the devs and any legal action they might bring upon my head. If you would like me to take this down for any reason, I will gladly do so. This mod is only intended to enhance the experience for certain users, and not for cheats or exploits.

For the record, with this thing I was able to beat the first (500 Score requirement) bedroom game on Hard in two minutes, where before it was bloody impossible.

Also, this made Date puzzles much, much more enjoyable. I'll probably actually go for the achievements now.

Quick update here, but I changed the icons in the UI for Most/Least Desired Trait as well as on the stat upgrade screen.

Also updated the broken hearts to be more obvious when matched

Uninstall the original first if you have it

You mean they didn't have to cut the decay rate in half for it to be playable?

Yeah, instead of tweaking a number slightly more than they already did, it only took a complete replacement of all the graphics to make it playable.

Also I've seen people with full color vision take hours in the bedroom, so this community mod wouldn't really help them any.

Nobody's perfect, maybe the Devs will learn from this and make an effective colorblind mode in their next game.

Those people need practice, as I have been saying for days.

Cool! A friend of mine became interested in HuniePop as I've been singing its praises, but he's colorblind so he didn't want to buy it. I'll let him know about this mod.

I don't think he's going to buy the game. :( He's more of a COD and Battlefield player and I guess HuniePop is too far out of his comfort zone.

I say make love (HuniePop), not war (COD)!

Hm, I thought I saw a video of someone using this mod, but I can't find it?

Anyway, my fault, but one of the changes I made never went into the patch. Link to the new version is in the first post. Again, uninstall the old one first before applying this.

I can't get it to work. I don't have "sharedassets0.assets" on my folder. Where can I get it?

Did you look in your install folder? It'll be wherever you downloaded the game files, or you could right click the HuniePop shortcut that you use to run the game and Find Location.
