its a timed quest. You probably bump into one of them while exploring.

Nope, had 16 Hours left and was in the Slums exloring stuff, never entered the Cave where they are, also i would know it if i killed one for sure... I found the Hostage and recued it and there the Quest wasn't failed, but later it was... I had that Quest active and wanted to do it, just as i saw that it has an red cross and say i found them and killed 1/3, which absurd anyway...

I have to start from scratch now, but ok, next Time i save every 5 Minutes a new Save for sure....

I beat all three groups and had to do it again because I chose not to drain them the first time.

If karma is important to you,that is a good quest to fail.

Yeah i know where they are, but i never was there, never meet them, never fighted them and certainly never killed 1/3 of them...

Well, i don't now, if it failed or how it failed, the only green is i meet them, then red cross killed 1/3 and red cross on boris something...

That's odd.

Yeahh, well do i need to start over or not? Because i found cool Stuff and don't want again kill that ♥♥♥♥♥ Boss on Extreme Difficulty... What are the Consequences or failing this one, i mean it's the only big one i had in the log?!

just some + - karma depends on how you do the quest ( and a purple rifle as you arrest Boris ) .

Failing to get the deserters doesnt matter tho , you still have Boris to fight right ? Getting Boris is enough.

Edit : oh the boss you mean is Boris , oh then its ok . the others are just for fun , extra exp.

No i mean the first one, if i start over...

And no, Boris is also red crossed along with killed 1/3 Deserters... Also this is definitely a Bug because i read that you can't leave the Underworks before dealing with Boris, but well i nevert was there so it failed without me entering the Underworks...

wow , you have to start from the beginning ?... that sucks .
well , if you have time you could try to start over , quests give a good ammount of exp so missing quests suck , for me i dont like missing ingame contents too , even if its a tiny one .

try quicksave a few times , i personally make a new save everytime i finish a quest , everygame have bugs , you'll never know.

Yeah, well, i spend alot of Time exloring and harvesting stuff and also upgrading Things and those huge empty Maps where you have to be a marathon man to go from one point to another are no fun to do it all again... But i also hate to miss stuff and who knows what happens now after this strangly failed Quest... :(

Next Time a Save every 5 Minutes and after every Door i pass for sure...

happened to me to, it just failed i think its because i picked up or completed another quest, i guess you really have to do it as soon as possible i still had over 20 hours left on the timer

Well, they give you enough Time to do it, i had still 16 Hours left as i rescued that Hostage... Also if it fails because of Time it would not say i meet them and killed 1/3, so what ever, i started over now from the save just before the first Boss i had, already killed that ♥♥♥♥♥ Boss again...

So now collecting Stuff agein, upgrading again and all that, at least now i know where the Stuff is and i simply ignore all Dialog and everything also because i'm bored and angry now, anyone that attacks me will be drained dry and killed...

The quest actually fails if you leave Underworks before confronting Boris.

Yeah, but you can't leave underworks until dealed with and i never entered the underworks, thats why it's impossible... And i definitely not meet the Deserters and killed one, in fact i not killed anyone in the Slums, so definitely glitched somehow...

for me it just failed when i had entered the mutant pen, and a few seconds after i left, it failed(still over 20 hours left on timer), also about the one group you found i am pretty sure its the group hanging out by the entrance to the slum.
