Will this game have controller support?

Yes, Xpadder is the most popular option, but keep in mind...
The letters the engine uses for its button layout does NOT refer to the letters on your keyboard.

For instance:

R = W on the keyboard

X = A on the keyboard

Y = S on the keyboard

Z = D on the keyboard

Thats fine, but I have to use my keyboard for everything eles.

Love the game, though.

I don't understand: does the game have controller support, or not? To say that one could use xpadder to make their game work with a controller is NOT the same as having controller support, yet the store page says that it does...

It does support controllers on mac and linux by assigning buttons via the F1 menu. It says partial controller support on the store page.

so no

If a dev misleads on the store page it doesn't bode well for the game.

Tried Xbox360 D-Input for the game; no results. No prob though, wireless keyboard is great for comfy couch playing.

Pretty sure there is nothing misleading about listing your game with "Partial Controller Support" and having Partial Controller Support.
The layout is wonky as hell but the game can be played with an Xbox control right out of the box.

Well, if it works for Linux there is partial support.
Most people just don't use Linux for gaming.

My XBox 360 controller works fine-- played through the entire game on it. You have to memorize which buttons match WASD in some of the characters' combo moves to pull them off properly..but that's the only setback.

Partial support implies the game can be used with controllers--but doesn't have fancy controller integration, i.e. 360 button layouts that work seamlessly with the game. Part of this is due to the engine's limitations. My PS3 controller also works with the game. I'm running Windows 8.

The partial support description isn't misleading.

Yeah, I wasn't able to use my D-Pad on my PS3 controller, but found success with the joystick. A little finnicky but it does the job. I just throw my hand onto the keyboard during battles so I can combo a bit easier. This game is about exploration so I don't find this to be that much of an issue.

Here is my setup. Go into the F1 control options menu:

Button 1: C
Button 2: B
Button 3: A
Button 4: C
Button 5: Y
Button 6: Z
Button 7: L
Button 8: R

What this does for your controller (typical 360 one:)

X button: action/unequip key skill item

A button: interaction/Ok/select

B button: Back/cancel

Y: I don't think I have anything mapped to it.

Left shoulder: attack button

Right shoulder: attack button

I haven't really put too much thought into it. I was just playing around with combinations and ended up with this. I am confident if you want to figure it out, you can add functionality for the other three buttons but for what I use the controls for this feels the most comfortable

Thank you starman.

Also consider using the alternate build on windows, the default controller bindings should be a lot better and even if you have to change something it should be less confusing.
