Need help with Assassin's Creed II?

Have you witnessed any bugs, has your game crashed or are you experiencing some performance issues with the game?

Save file location:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\<USERID>\4

Settings file location:
C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\Ubisoft\Assassin's Creed 2\Assassin2.ini

Controller support:
The game officially supports Xbox 360 controllers, but other Xbox controllers may work also.

Make sure the controller is connected to Steam via a USB wire first. Launch the game, in the games menu, select options > customize controls > then scroll the options available until you see your connected controller

Here are the system requirements for Assassins Creed II ~

Minimum Configuration

OS: Windows 7
Processor: 1.8 GHz Intel Core2 Duo or 2.4 GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 or better
Video: 256 MB DirectX 9.0c–compliant card with Shader Model 3.0 or better
DirectX: DirectX 9.0c
RAM: 2 GB
Storage: 8 GB
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c–compliant sound card
Peripherals: Windows-compliant keyboard, mouse, optional controller (Xbox 360 Controller for Windows recommended)
DVD-ROM: Dual-layer DVD-ROM drive
Internet Connection: Broadband Internet connection with 128 kbps or faster

Running the game in 'Windows Compatibility' mode ~

As with some of our older titles that were released a few years ago for different Window's OS versions, you may need to run the game in Windows Compatibility mode if using a modern PC, to emulate the Windows OS that the game originally was released for.

To do this, first locate the games .exe game file -

Right click on the file and select the Properties option
Next, select the 'Compatibility' tab
Select the one of the older Windows OS - Windows 7
Select Apply
Select OK
Launch game by double clicking on the games .exe file

Please note, the game also uses the older versions of DirectX - DirectX 9 supporting software. Please make sure this version is installed in your games 'Support' installation folder, if you having any problems launching the game.
