Is Assassin's Creed 1 worthy?

I'm thinking in start playing the AC series from the begining but wanted to know if i need play the first game. Since i heard is too boring and repeating, i'm fine if i skip it?

I played it at release and found it kinda boring, but i was trying to 100% the map. Its probably fine if you just do the story quests.

nice, i'm buying it then. Found out i have the 2 already, was thinking in play the game i have and go for there, but now i got 1, must play this two before buying 3 in another sale. I only do main quests in ubisoft games because of this boring extra things, finished the Origins and loved the game, only one AC i finished, but far cry i finished 2, 3, new dawn and there i saw how things can get boring in ubisoft games, thanks for the response
