I've been in the game almost since its inception, and I still remember my first emotions when I first launched it. An indescribable delight when I realized how many adventures awaited me. My first flight on a dragon that I raised myself from an egg, funny adventures of cartoon characters, the spirit of speed in racing.
And now I have long been an adult, but I am still glad to return sometimes to my favorite game. I still save crystals, dreaming of the moment when I will have the perfect viking with the best dragon, how I will go through the entire storyline of the game and reveal all the secrets of the game. Up to this day.
When I saw this news, something broke in me. It's like some part of my childhood is gone forever.
Dude..... I've played the game for the first time back before HTTYD2 was released and I think for a short time I actually got to see the in-game hiccup without the flight suit that we knew afterwards, like just the old classic hiccup with the brown vest, back when the game toolbar and shop and whatsoever had like brown and old style "frames", but that all doesn't matter now.
The thing is, I used to suck at English back than and I had my mom translate stuff for me, which was always so great. Back then, having a single dragon was so nice and seeing other people with the skrill or whatsoever was like amazing. This game was always the type of game you could always return to, and it most definitely cheer you up, even when you were feeling down. Years later, I'm now 16 and have spent like 100€ on the game and stuff, I feel so, empty.... I just don't know what to say. All I can do is ask... why? Like I understand the game ain't the best and highest quality of em all and it also has pretty few active players I think, like on that we can agree but I still don't see a reason to shut such wonderful memories down....
Dragons in general, were some of my favorite movies and Dragons Race to the Edge as much as Dragons Riders of Berk or whatever, were by far my favorite childhood series. All I can do now is play the game for a little while, just for old time's sake. Maybe someone would also care to join me, if that's the case, you can find my discord on my profile, I really feel like I'd talk to someone about it and do it while playing SoD with them. Anyways, thanks for reading this long boring text and in a way, listening to my words, Cya.
I would have been alright with the possible server shutting down aspect of it, perhaps changing it to a full singleplayer game with no further updates, but with all my progress and thousands of hours placed into this game going right down the drain? It's just upsetting, very upsetting.
