Carmageddon TDR 2000

Carmageddon TDR 2000

TDR2000 MAX-Pack
Hi, Just wanted to let everyone know about this unofficial patch for tdr2000. Adds lots of extra features and fixes for the game and seems to work fine with the steam version, but it might mess up your save files if you've already started playing the game prior to patching it with this patch.

You can find the patch here: http://www.gamefront.com/files/6225634/TDR2000-MAX-Pack-v1.14f/

Here is a short introduction from the readme file:

MAX-Pack for Carmageddon TDR2000 is an UNOFFICIAL add-on pack BASED ON the original Nosebleed Pack, released by Torus Games and SCi. Neither of those companies supports this pack. This pack was created with concent and co-operation from the Carmageddon community and the Carmageddon Webmasters Alliance, without them this was never possible.

The pack combines the best add-ons, track skins, car skins, fixes, tools, tweaks and multiplayer levels available on the internet. It allows quick installation and standardizes multiplay with add-ons. A new addition is the TDRLauncher, a flexible TDR2000 Game Launcher with some extra features, and update notification support.

MAX-Pack has only been tested on the UK English Blood version of TDR2000 and it updates TDR2000 to v1.159. This version includes the original Nosebleed Pack.

Thanks for the update, haven't tried this one yet. I found a link to this version here: http://www.carmajunkies.com/downloads/index.php?act=view&id=823 but I recommend everyone to read the instructions in the readme of this download before your install it. According to the readme in this version it will break the uninstall function of the max-pack 1.14f version. It also requires 1.14f to already be installed.

No, it isn't. It's DRM free.
I know, because you can play this game without Steam.
COOL! Now if only we could do something about the timer... like remove the cap and increase time given for smacking each other around and hitting pedestrians this game would be damn near perfect

That fact alone should speak volumes. I'm an old hand at Carmageddon. I KNOW how to play Carmageddon. This game doesn't play like Carmageddon due to the timer keeping you on such a short leash. I actually enjoy the missions. My problem is mostly with the timer. Like I said, If the timer worked the same as the old Carameddon games this one would be damn near perfect... at least from a gameplay standpoint.

does it get the game to run on Windows8/8.1?
I have massive issues getting the game to run until I used a DirectX 7 wrapper. But that isn't a "native" fix.

I agree. The timer doesn't let you explore the map like carmageddon 1 and 2.

To remove the time limit in the game, edit the options.txt file in the Assets folder. Search for the string USE_TIMER, and change the value from 1 to 0.
