i think you mean Telltale went bankrupt and the rights reverted back to the licence holder, which is in theory Warner Bros who have not chosen to restore the game to any platforms. There isn't any copyright dispute.

Odd considering WB allowed Batman to be restored.

Now over $150, ouch

It's a Telltale game after all, some of those games go for pretty high amounts.

The Guardians game is easily over $500 now and despite only being delisted a few weeks or so ago Strong Bad is already going for almost $100. I had bought it on Steam for about $4 just before it was removed so that was a pretty steep increase.

Yes that's true but when it comes to licence holders things can get a bit messy sometimes. Just look at a recent example in regards to Strong Bad, which should have been all good, after it's original removal it was brought back only to be removed about a year after it's revival.

It caused a lot of people who wishlisted it to become complacent and missed out since they didn't see it coming and were just waiting for an upcoming sale and this just happened last month from recollection. I just got really lucky when I bought it and had no idea it would ever get delisted for a second time as they hardly provided any notice to anyone.

It sucks that any game gets delisted from sale on Steam and people miss out. The games from Telltale were hit pretty damn hard but I could definitely see Game of Thrones coming back, it just all depends on what the licence holders decide to do.

If they don't feel like it lives up to the 'quality' they deem fit or if they don't think they can make much money from it coming back then they will just ignore it, sadly it's the nature of the beast and the Batman games were just a lot more popular and lucrative for them.

Still if Batman and Borderlands could make a return almost anything could, that is within reason as I am pretty confident the Poker Night games won't ever return due to the sheer amount of licensed characters in each game. It would become a logistical nightmare to overcome.

Hopefully we will see the day when GoT and other Telltale games make a return to Steam. If the demand is high enough there is always a possibility for it to happen.

As of right now there is money to be made and it can only benefit licence holders since the distribution costs are minimal at best.
