Beat the boss until he almost falls off at one end with the kicks and the homing attack. When you are at that point wait for the homing attack to "charge up" (there are more rings added to the homing attack icon) and attack him (it takes a little bit longer than you think).
Yes, this is bad game design.

It had such potential. The stages look awesome, the whole idea (even if it's basically an imitation of Mario Galaxy) is great... but SEGA has no idea how to design a game around it all. Sonic's movement is all wrong, it all feels wrong. Such a shame.

No, Mario Galaxy is far supperior and Sonic didn't need that kind of level design.

Sonic's movements aren't the problem (aside from having to press the right trigger to run), being able to spindash in a 3D game is good.

ive also had this issue, but what attack do i use? Flying kick or full charge homing attack? because no matter what i do he blocks me even if i attack immediately
