We have made several improvements to Quests for lower level players, but also for existing high-level players to enjoy during Legends Reborn events.

Kingdom Quest Map

• We wanted to bring some more life to Krystara, so Kingdom Quests now take place on a Kingdom Quest Map.
  
• Quest Maps take players down into the Kingdom’s Region.
  
• Players will be able to see the Kingdom quests as nodes on a path on the map.
  
• Tapping on the active quest’s node will cause the quest’s popup to appear, allowing players to play that quest.
  
• Class Quests will appear as a separate location on the map. They will unlock once the main storyline is complete.
  
• Most kingdoms (71 of 76, including factions) will have their Quest Map in the 8.1 Update, but a few didn’t quite make it in time, so expect to see those Quest Maps updated in a future patch. In the meantime, they will share a generic map image.
  
• The Intro Questline and World Quests will have their own maps too.

Quest Changes

• On top of the new quest map, we have made some additional visual updates to quests.
  • Quest Battle “Enemy Yells” now appear over the kingdom quest map, and have a new look + animation.
    
  • Quest Rewards also appear over the kingdom quest map, and have had a visual update.
• We have adjusted the sequence for our Quest flow.
  • Quest rewards are now given before the final cutscene.
    
  • The starting conversations for the next quest will play after the end conversation of a quest (making it feel like a single conversation).
    
  • Interacting with a quest node will take players straight into the first battle.

We have 2 new Achievements for this update:

• Open the Gates: Match 100 Daemonic Portal Gems.
  
• The Growing Tide: Own 5 Immortals at level 10.

• We have added a new dragonite recipe in the Soulforge that will rotate each week with a different Dragonite Dragon (one of those available from either the Gem Dragon Egg or the Cosmic Dragon Egg).
  • Because this allows you to target a Dragonite Dragon, it has a higher cost than its respective Dragonite Egg.
    
  • Any future new Dragonite Egg Dragons will have a 1 year exclusive period with their own egg before they are added into this rotation.
    
  • The new recipe will go live next week around weekly reset (7am GMT Monday 9th September)
• We have added a new Heroic Gem for a future Campaign – the Daemonic Portal Gem.
  
• We have changed access to Alliance chat from Centurion V to Legionary V
  
• We have changed the amount of VP from Icons remaining at the start of a new PvP season from 10% to 20%.

• We have fixed an issue where exploding Mana Potions could cause the game to lock up.
  
• We have fixed an issue where having an active Gnome-a-Palooza could cause the game to freeze if you tried to play the Citadel Battle.
  
• We have fixed an issue that would allow players to include 2 Immortals into their team if they manually adjusted the pasted team share code.
  
• We have fixed an issue where Immortal Troops could be summoned.
  
• We have fixed an issue where Immortal Titanius’ spell “destroy column” effect would not resolve Heroic Gems correctly.
  
• We have fixed an assortment of smaller issues.

Hello everyone! Sirrian here, and I’m so excited to finally talk more about Immortals in Update 8.0 and what it means for Gems of War moving forward. But first…

Who are the Immortals?

Immortals are a completely new type of content that houses a new troop, weapon, and pet for adventurers to progress. It is quite unique in that it's ultimately an entirely new troop type in Gems of War, which we haven't done in many years! Unlike other troops, Immortals progress and act very differently from their non-Immortal counterparts, breaking free from the current rarity system. Furthermore, these troops are so powerful that only one Immortal can be included on a team at a time. We’re excited to see what kind of teams will be built by the community to take advantage of each Immortal troop’s unique abilities!

How are Immortals different from regular troops?

Immortals have a unique form of leveling separate from current troops that require a new item, Immortal Souls, to progress. At level 1, you’ll have the troop with its base stats which will already be viable to slot into any team, but as you build that immortal, you’ll unlock its unique weapon, pet, greater stats for all of that Immortal’s content, awakened traits, and mana reductions at higher levels. While there will be multiple ways to earn Immortal Souls, the primary way will be through the brand-new PVP Seasons!


Introducing PVP Seasons

Our new PVP Seasons feature opens a completely new avenue for Gem warfare! These seasons will take place over 11 weeks and provide a set of “Seasonal Goals'' to pursue throughout the season’s run. Completing these goals will earn you special PVP buffs to boost your resource collection and PVP marks to purchase items in the PVP shop.
The introduction of PVP Seasons also launches with a new “PVP Season Pass” to earn even greater rewards!


One last note!

The 8.0 “Immortals” Update is the culmination of the last several updates focused on reinvigorating our PVP game mode in Gems of War. The team has done a tremendous job of developing new and exciting features including the introduction of “Regions” and new “Alliances” in the PVP map. The “Immortals'' update brings all of these features together to establish the PVP system as a core pillar of the Gems of War formula.

We welcome all current, new, and returning adventurers to jump in a play today with our fully rich slate of PVE content or conquer the regions all across Krystara in PVP - there is something for everyone!

Immortals are a new type of Mythic Troop linked to the PvP Seasons (more on that further down) with a new unique levelling system.

• When 8.0 Launches, we will have 10 Immortals available in Chests.
  
• Each Immortal has its own unique currency, Immortal Souls – used for levelling it.
  
• Unlike regular Troops, Immortals can only be unlocked or gain levels by earning and spending their Immortal Souls.
  
• Immortals unlock when a player earns 10 of its Immortal Souls.
  
• Unlocked Immortals start at Level 1 (for all players, even if the player has VIP levels). A Level 1 Immortal has similar Skill Points to a Level 20 Mythic
  
  • This is so players can start using Immortals immediately upon unlock.
• Immortals can be leveled to Level 30
  
  • Each level on an Immortal will unlock something new, this includes:
  • More Skill Points
  • The Immortals 3 Traits (and upgraded versions of these – see below)
  • Mana Cost reductions (similar to Shiny Troops),
  • A special Immortal Weapon, whose spell works with the Immortal Troop,
  • An Immortal Pet that also works with the Immortal Troop.
• Immortal Weapons and Pets can only be upgraded by levelling their associated Immortal – they do not use ingots, or pet food, or duplicate copies.
  
• Immortal Troops, Weapons, and Pets cannot be upgraded by Orbs.
  
• At Level 30 Immortals unlock their Awakened Traits, which are more powerful versions of their Traits.
  
• Once fully levelled, any excess Immortal Souls will be automatically converted into Burning Marks, as 1 Burning Mark for every 5 excess Immortal Souls.
  
• Immortals have a home Kingdom and a home Region.
  
• Immortals can ignore any restrictions in their home Region, allowing them to always be used within that region.
  
• However, they do obey any Region restrictions in other regions.
  
• Immortal Troops’ spells have a bonus effect that triggers when used in their home Region (mentioned in their spell description).
  
• Only 1 Immortal can be active in a team at a time.
  
• Players are able to view their Immortals in the Troop List, but Immortals also have their own menu on the left-hand side of the PvP world map, where players can view all Immortals available and manage the Immortals they own.
  
• ‘New Immortals will be introduced with PvP Seasons, with each Season having a Featured Immortal that players will be able to collect Immortal Souls for from the season’s rewards.’New Immortals will be introduced with PvP Seasons, with each Season having a Featured Immortal that players will be able to collect Immortal Souls for from the season’s rewards.

The Immortals update introduces the final PvP Currency – Burning Marks. It also introduces the Burning Chests which can be opened with Burning Marks.

• Burning Chests are a new Chest related to PvP
  
• Burning Chests can be found on the left-hand side of the PvP World Map
  
• It costs 10 Burning Marks to open a Burning Chest
  
• Burning Marks can be earned in 3 ways:
  
  • PvP Season Pass
  • PvP Season Goals
  • Directly purchasing from the PvP Shop (this will have weekly limits)
• Burning Chests will give one of the following:
  
  • 10 – 50 Immortal Souls for a random Immortal
  • 20 Gold Marks or 50 Silver Marks
  • 1 Bronze, Silver or Gold Icon
• Icons are a new collectible resource that can be traded in for VP in the PvP Shop (in the Other Tab) or saved for the start of the New Season
  
• Icons are worth the following amounts
  
  • Bronze Icon: 500 VP
  • Silver Icon: 1,500 VP
  • Gold Icon: 5,000 VP
• Trading an Icon will earn the VP towards both your Weekly and Total VP amounts for the Season
  
• Any Icons that have been saved or not used by the end of a Season will be auto-converted to 10% of their VP value when the new Season begins, giving players a means to get a headstart for the new Season.

As hinted back in the 7.3 update, we are introducing PvP Seasons to Gems of War. There are 2 parts to Season – Season Pass and Season Goals.

• PvP Seasons will last 11 weeks.
  
• Each Season will have a Featured Immortal, which will be a new Immortal introduced that season.
  
• Immortal Souls for this Featured Immortal can be earned from the Season Pass and Season Goals. Players will also have a chance to earn Immortal Souls for them from Burning Chests when their Season begins.
  
• Players advance through Tiers in the Season Pass by earning VP in PvP battles during the season.
  
  • VP earned from trading in Icons will also count towards this.
• There is only a single reward track, however some Tiers rewards are locked unless the player has the Premium Pass.
  
• There are 90 Tiers in the Season Pass for players to achieve.
  
• Season Pass rewards include things such as Immortal Souls for the Feature Immortal, Burning Marks, Talismans, Boosters, and other rewards.
  
• Season Pass progress resets each Season.

• Each Season will have a set of Goal Tasks for players to complete.
  
• All Goals can be achieved by playing in the PvP system.
  
• There are 3 levels to complete for each Goal – Bronze, Silver, Gold.
  
• Completing a level for a Goal will give a reward of either Burning Marks, or Immortal Souls for the Featured Immortal.
  
• Season Goals reset each Season.

The first PvP Season, the Season of Ice will begin 22nd of July, at weekly reset. Keep an eye out for a PvP Season blog with more information

We have 2 new Achievements for this update:

• 20,000 VPs Under the Sea: Earn 20,000 Victory Points in a PvP Season.
  
• There Can Be Only 10: Upgrade an Immortal to Level 10.

• Silver Marks and Gold Marks have had a visual update to match the new Burning Marks.
  
• In the Resource Wallet we have created a new category called PvP where Silver Marks, Gold Marks, Monolith Sigils and Citadel Sigils, will be joining Burning Marks, and the 3 new Icons.
  
• The Alliance Skill point boost for Alliances with 0 – 1 Citadels will now apply to those players’ teams on Defense at a reduced amount. (This bonus will add to the Blood Frenzy boost that applies to opponents in those regions).
  
  • 0 Citadels = 20% to PvP Defense
  • 1 Citadels = 10% to PvP Defense
• We have added 2 new Citadel Guardians that will be encountered in their Home Regions the week after 8.0 releases:
  
  • Guardian of Innovation will be encountered in Aidania
  • Guardian of Ice will be encountered in Winter’s Reach

From Monday, July 22nd at daily reset when the Season begins until the following Monday the 29th.
You can change Alliance more than once in this period
After daily reset on Monday the 29th, penalties will apply again if you change Alliance.

• We have fixed an issue in the Trials menu where the screen was not scrolling along to match your cursor selection.
  
• We have fixed an assortment of smaller issues.

Alliances are a new system. Players can join them and participate in Citadel Wars to take control of Citadels.

• Players can choose their Alliance independent of their Guild.
  
  • This allows players in a Guild to be in different Alliances
• There are 5 Alliances for Players to choose from:
  
  • The Bright Empire
    
  • The Enchanted Grove
    
  • The Dark Order
    
  • The Wild Horde
    
  • The Golden Forge
• All Alliances are identical (apart from their names & shields), so it does not matter which one you join.
  
• Each day a player is in an Alliance, they will receive +1 Loyalty for that Alliance
  
• When players join their very first Alliance, they will be given 10 days Loyalty as a gift.
  
  • This is only the first Alliance they join, any Alliance a player may join after this first one will not give this perk.
• If a player decides to leave their Alliance they will lose 25% of their Total VP (Weekly VP will not be affected), All their current Loyalty, and their current Alliance Rank.
  
  • Joining a new Alliance will recalculate the player’s rank based on Total VP and Loyalty (which will be 0 days, unless it is your very first Alliance).
• To aid Alliances who don’t own 2 or more Citadels, their Alliance members will gain a skill point buff in all PvP Battles (Citadel + Quick Battle).
  
  • 0 Citadels Owned = +20% Skill Point Bonus
    
  • 1 Citadel Owned = +10% Skill Point Bonus
• There is an Alliance Leaderboard Tab in the Alliance menu that will display the top 100 performers in your Alliance based on the number of Citadel points earned for the week (see Citadel Points below).

• Players need to earn Victory Points in a Season and Loyalty in an Alliance to advance up the Alliance Ranks.
  
• There are 18 Alliance Ranks – 9 Legionary Ranks, and 9 Officer Ranks.
  
• All Alliances use the same rank names.
  
• The higher the rank, the more VP and Loyalty required.
  
• Starting at Legionary VI (the 4th lowest rank) players will earn Daily Rewards from their Alliance (Silver, and eventually Gold Marks).
  
• Daily Rewards will increase as players earn higher ranks within their Alliance.
  
• Changing Alliance, and resetting your player’s rank will stop any daily rewards from being earned until you reach Legionary VI in the new Alliance.

• When a player joins an alliance they will gain access to the Alliance’s Chat.
  
• Alliance Chat will contain system messages intended to notify Alliance members when a Citadel is vulnerable, when the Alliance Wins or Loses a Citadel, when a Citadel’s voting is available, etc.
  
• Players need to be rank Centurion V or higher to write into chat
  
  • This is to prevent malicious chat spam
• If a player leaves their Alliance they will lose access to that Alliance Chat.

The central location in the regions is now available for players – Citadels.

• All Regions have a Citadel in a central location of the Region menu
  
• 1-2 Citadels will become vulnerable once a week from Daily Reset (excluding Wednesday and Sunday).
  
• Vulnerable Citadels can be fought over by Alliances in Citadel Wars.
  
• Blood Frenzy will never occur in any Region that has a vulnerable Citadel.
  
• Players will be able to see when a Citadel will be vulnerable from their Alliance Overview Menu.
  
  • Players will also be able to jump directly to a Citadel from this menu as well.

• Citadel Wars only last for 1 day
  
• Players get 6 Citadel Sigils per day to spend in battle.
  
  • There is no version of the Valraven or Valhawk for Citadel Sigils.
• Players can purchase more Citadel Sigils in the Citadel Bundle which contains 6 more Citadel Sigils. (This bundle can only be purchased 3 times per Day.)
  
• Sigils are capped at 6 when they regenerate, if they are more than 6 Sigils though, none are lost.
  
• Citadel Wars contain PvP Battles, and battles against the Citadel’s Guardian.
  
• Similar to Quick Battle, players will have 3 opponents to choose between.
  
• When you fight players in a Citadel Battle, you will not encounter any players from your Alliance.
  
• Each Battle will give Citadel Points (CP) from completing them.
  
  • PvP Battles will be worth 10% of the final VP earned from a battle (minus any boost from Victory Talismans… i.e. you can’t inflate your CP by using Victory Talismans).
    
  • The first Citadel Guardian is worth 25 CP
• After defeating 4 PvP Battles, Players will then face off with the Citadel Guardian.
  
• As players complete battles, the battles will increase in difficulty (both the Player Opponents and the Citadel Guardians).
  
  • Enemy stats will increase by 10% after the first battle, and be worth +2 CP more per battle.
    
  • Citadel Guardians will increase by +50 Levels, and be worth +25 CP more per battle.
• After defeating the Citadel Guardian, players can play through another 4 battles to gain access to the Citadel Guardian again (if they have the Sigils to do so).
  
• There will be 4 Citadel Guardians available when Citadel Wars launches (but we may add more in the future).
  
• Citadel Guardians will not be collectible at this time.
  
• Citadel Guardians will only appear in their set Region, so players will always encounter the same Guardian when fighting in a Region.
  
• At daily reset, players can no longer play Citadel Battles in that Region, and the winning Alliance is decided.

• There are 2 types of Rewards that can be earned in Citadel Wars:
  
  • Player Rewards: Players can earn additional rewards from participating in Citadel Wars (on top of their regular Rewards for PvP Battles)
    
  • Alliance Rewards: As well as being able to vote on the following week’s Restrictions (see below), and Heroic Gem in the Region (see below). Alliances also get an extra reward for winning a Citadel War.
• Player Reward Details:
  
  • After winning the third PvP Battle, players will receive 5 Gold Marks.
    
  • After winning against the Citadel Guardian, players will receive 2 Swift Talismans and 10 Gold Marks.
    
  • These player rewards can be earned each time players run through the 5 battles.
    
  • The Swift Talisman is a new Talisman that will give the Swift Trait to all Allied Troops in the battle. It can only be earned from defeating a Citadel Guardian.
• Alliance Reward Details:
  
  • When an Alliance wins a Citadel War, they will receive a special version of the Region Bonus for that Region, that will give Gold Marks instead of Silver Marks for the next 24hrs after winning the Citadel.
    
  • This Special Region Bonus can only be earned once per week.
    
  • The amount of Gold Marks will be scaled based on the size of the Alliance when they win the Citadel.
    
  • Players must be Alliance rank Legionary VIII or higher to be able to claim this reward (to prevent players jumping into a winning Alliance to try and earn this perk each day).

• On Daily Reset every Sunday, if an Alliance owns a Citadel, they will be able to vote for restrictions and Heroic Gems to randomly drop in that Region for the next week.
  
• Citadel Voting lasts for 24 hours
  
• Players need to have an Alliance Loyalty of at least 10 Days to be able to participate in Citadel voting.
  
  • This is to prevent players hopping between Alliances trying to influence region voting
• Players can cast their votes, choosing one of 3 different Restrictions and one of 3 different Heroic Gems.
  
• After voting, players will then see the current voting results.
  
• The winning Restrictions and Heroic Gems will then appear in the upcoming week’s battles in that Region.

We have made a few improvements to Legends Reborn Events

• Players only have to play through the Kingdom’s quest once, rather than 5 times over the duration of the event.
  
  • Players will still receive enough copies of the Quest Pet to upgrade it to Mythic.
    
  • They will also now receive a bonus amount of the event’s collectible currency.
• Legends Reborn will now be a 1 week event (similar to the Mist of Scales event back in February).
  
• We have added a 2 day grace period after the event ends, so players who are playing close to the end of the event will have a chance to collect or purchase any tier rewards they have unlocked.
  
• We have added new pips to the Legends Reborn button on the World Map and on the Games menu. When players have rewards that can be collected or purchased, these pips will be visible.
  
• We have updated the menu to be a single menu (not split over 2 menus, as it was previously), which reflects the changes mentioned above.
  
• We have updated the collectible currency icons for the events, to make them easier to see in battles.
  
• We are reviewing the Tier Rewards and will have some changes coming in the next events (similar to some of the changes we tried in the Mist of Scales Legends Reborn event).

We have 2 new Achievements for this update:

• Part of the Club: Join an Alliance.
  
• You Are Victorious!: Defeat 10 Citadel Guardians.

• We have added a new Heroic Gem for a future Campaign.
  
• We have added code to improve variation of teams in the PVP opponent selection screen.
  
  • This should make it less likely you will see 3 opponents with the same team on the same opponent selection screen.
• We have changed the “Troop More Info” menu for Shiny Troops that are fully maxed out so the progress bar and shiny icon will continue to display (just saying that the troop is fully maxed out for Shiny Levels).
  
  • This will make it easier for players to bring up the Shiny Troop menu to read a Troop’s Shiny Lore, or see their bonus for each Shiny Level.
• We have added a new slide option to the Battle Pause menu for Bonus Mana, which will display all Bonus Mana earned from Traits, Class Talents, or Kingdom Banners.
  
• We have sped up the animations when players first enter the Holiday Event menu.
  
• We have updated the UI for the Puzzle Battle dropdown menu (where players can access Game Speed and Chat).
  
• We have added a new option to the Puzzle Battle dropdown menu – Heroic Gem Guide. This option will show a popup that lists all the currently available Heroic Gems and what they do.
  
  • This should help players not only with any Heroic Gems on the Board but any mentioned in spells.

• We have fixed an issue where text in the Adventure Board popup was misaligned.
  
• We have fixed an issue where placeholder text would sometimes display on the initial loading screen.
  
• We have fixed an assortment of smaller issues.

We have released the 7.4.1 Hot Fix.

• We have fixed an issue where if you navigated to the World Map > Games > Epic Trials, after the Epic Trial battle the game would crash, cause a CLIFFY error or you wouldn’t be able to close the Epic Trials menu.
  
• We fixed the issue in PVP where the game would crash when you selected your opponent’s Hero on the pre-battle screen or during the battle.
  
• We fixed an issue where Hero Class information would be displayed on non-Hero Troops in battle.
  
• We fixed the issue where the Legends Reborn button on the left side of the World Map did nothing
  
• We fixed an issue for some mobile players where the amount of Silver Marks they owned wasn’t appearing in the PVP shop.
  • This issue may still occur on some devices, for example the Samsung Galaxy Tab A, so we’re continuing to investigate.
• We fixed the issue where the Blood Frenzy overlay was appearing over Rewards that weren’t earned as part of the Blood Frenzy, for example, on Silver Marks sent to mail.

Thank you all for your patience while we sorted these issues out!

We have added the first expansion for the new PvP system, Monoliths. Monoliths are PvE battles that provide buffs to your team when fighting PvP Battles. Learn more about them below.

• All Regions have Monoliths, however the number of Monoliths will be related to which ring the Region belongs to:
  
  • Center Ring: 3 Monoliths
  • Inner Ring: 4 Monoliths
  • Outer Ring: 5 Monoliths
• Each Monolith gives a buff that applies to all Regions in PvP
• Winning a battle in a Monolith will unlock its Buff which applies for 1 hour.
• Winning further battles within a Monolith will increase the effect of the buff and give an additional 1 hour to the duration.
• If a Monolith’s duration reaches 0, then the Monolith will reset and players will need to win the first battle again to activate it.

• Players can fight up to 5 Battles in a single Monolith.
• This means there are 5 levels of power for the Monolith’s PvP buff.
• Monolith Battles require Monolith Sigils, which can be gained from purchasing the Monolith Sigil Bundle from the PvP Shop, or defeating Valhawks in PvP Battles (see below for more info about Valhawks).
• While there is a cap to the amount of Monolith Sigils that players can earn from Valhawks of 6 per day, there is no cap on the number of Monolith Sigil Bundles that can be purchased.
• If you have 10 Monolith Sigils, Valhawks won't appear in your battles until you have less than 10 Monolith Sigils
• Each Monolith Battle has a “Boss Enemy” that will appear in the every battle
  
  • This Boss Troop will appear in the Monolith’s menu
• Enemy teams will be built of predefined team restrictions that fit the theme of the Boss or Monolith.
• Players will need to fight battles using the Region’s current team restrictions
• After winning battles 3 and 5, players will also receive some copies of a new Talisman – the Victory Talisman.

• Players can only encounter the Valhawk in PvP Battles (no matter the Region).
• Players have a 20% chance to encounter a Valhawk in a battle.
• Valhawk can be defeated up to 3 times per day.
  
  • It will not count to the daily limit if the Valhawk runs away or the player loses the battle.
  • Once the Valhawk has been successfully defeated 3 times, it will no longer appear in PvP Battles that day.
• Winning a battle against a Valhawk will give 2 Monolith Sigils.
  
  • Valhawks will only give Monolith Sigils if the player is victorious
• Monolith Sigils do not reset at the end of the week.
• The Valhawk will be available as a troop from the Vault on Tuesday March 12th daily reset (7am UTC).

• As mentioned, Players can earn Victory Talismans from Monolith Battles 3 and 5
• When used, Victory Talismans will double any Victory Points earned from that Battle (+100% Victory Points)
• If the Victory Talisman is used in a Blood Frenzy Region (more on Blood Frenzy Below), the bonus will be additive
  
  • (so it’s a x3 bonus not x4 as 100% Regular Amount + 100% Blood Frenzy + 100% Victory Talisman)

• On the World Map the Buff button will display how many Monolith buffs are currently active.
• Players can use the Monolith Buff menu to see how many Valhawk Encounters they have left for that day.
• The Monolith Buff Menu will display Monolith Buffs in a set order in the list:
  
  • Active Buffs – These are all the Monolith Buffs currently active, and they will display their current progress, effect and how much time remaining for that Buff.
  • Available Buffs – Monoliths that are available to play battles to activate them.
  • Locked Buffs – These are Regions which the player doesn’t have access to yet.
• Players can select a Monolith Buff in the list to be taken to that Monolith’s menu to play a battle there if they wish.
  
  • If a player doesn’t have a Region unlocked the Region’s Monoliths cannot be selected to shortcut to them.

Blood Frenzy is a new feature of PvP which will apply to 2 Regions daily, making the battles harder but giving increased rewards.

• Blood Frenzy applies in 2 Regions each day
  
  • While it should mostly be different Regions each day but sometimes a Region may experience 2 days in a row
• Blood Frenzy will never apply in Central Spire
• Blood Frenzy changes Regions with Daily reset
• The Regions chosen will be the same for all players
• Blood Frenzy will increase the skill points of opponent teams by 50%
• Winning battles in a Blood Frenzy Region will give double Victory Points (+100% bonus), and double Silver Marks if the Blood Frenzy Region has the Region Bonus active in it.
• Blood Frenzy Regions will be easy to identify on the PvP World Map by the Red Crystals that will appear beside the Region’s name when it is affected.

We have made a few improvements to PvP

• Players can now view the Region Bonus tracker from the Quick Battle menu. So they no longer need to return to the Region Menu to see their current progress for the Region Bonus.
• When players earn the Silver Marks from a Region Bonus they will see an animation popup celebrating this as they return to the Quick Battle menu (in case they missed seeing the Silver Marks in the Victory menu).
• PvP Pets in the PvP Shop will now sort Silver Marks Pets before Gold Mark Pets in the list.

We have 2 new Achievements for this update:

• A Monumental Achievement: Win a Monolith Battle.
• Put me on a Pedestal: Complete all Battles in a Monolith.

• We have added a new Heroic Gem for a future Campaign
• We have added a help button to the Event Headstart offer menu so players can view the Shiny Troop’s card before the troop releases.
• We have made some improvements to the navigation of the World Map.
• We have updated the Kingdom Slayer Weapon offer to match the new visual style of the game.
• In shop menus players can now tap on the resource in the top right corner to view the resources popup help.
• We have added some darkness behind the locks on the Path Menu, to help make it easier to see what rewards are locked and cannot be collected.
• We have adjusted all the Buttons in the Top Left corners in menus so they should be consistent in size
• We have adjusted the Headings of each menu so they should be consistent in size.
• We have updated all the feature lock banners to match the Underworld locked message.
• We have set up the XP, Gold, and Soul boosters so they appear the same size and in the same location on the World Map.

• We have made additional improvements to PvP to reduce the lag that some players are experiencing.
  
  • This is in addition to the server improvements we have made after the release of the 7.3 Update.
• We fixed an issue where some players on Xbox and PlayStation were not receiving their purchases correctly.
• We have fixed an issue where Ironhawk and Queen of Sin would cause the game to lock at the end of battle.
• We have fixed an assortment of visual issues in the UI
  
  • This includes a fix to the Epic Trials button in the Games menu so that it correctly takes you to the current Kingdom Epic Trials screen.
• We have fixed an assortment of smaller issues.

• On the world map if you select Games > Epic Trials and then play a Trial battle, collect your rewards and then select to close the Trials menu, it causes the game to soft lock

The PvP system has not seen a major update since it was changed in the 2.0 Update (May 2016). As Gems of War has evolved since then we’re giving the PvP System a big overhaul, 7.3 is the first part of this overhaul with expansions to the system planned for future updates.

• PvP now takes place on a new World Map
  
• When players tap the PvP Button they are taken to an alternative version of the world map for PvP.
  
• The left 3 buttons change to PvP Shop, Ladders, and Alliance replacing PvP, Games and Guilds.
  
• The left side-buttons Adventure, Campaign, and Events have been replaced with PvP Goals (it looks a little lonely right now, but we have more buttons planned to appear in future updates).
  
• All other buttons on the World Map remain the same.
  
• Players are able to return to the regular World Map menu by tapping the central buttons (similar to returning to the world map from the Underworld).
  
• On the new PvP Map, players will see 10 Regions. This is where PvP takes place – more on that below after we explain VP, Silver Marks, and Gold Marks).

• Players now earn Victory Points (VP) from PvP Battles instead of “PvP Score”.
  
  • VP will be used for 2 separate things
  • VP will be a measure of your progress in weekly PvP
  • VP totals as they accumulate week-by-week will unlock things in the PvP Shop
  • In a future update, we will introduce PvP Seasons, and your VP will reset (not back to zero though – there will be ways to get a headstart)
  • For now, we are treating version 7.3 as “Season Zero” – it’s the season you get when there’s not really a season!
• All PvP battles have a base amount of VP (based on a player’s progress through the game) with bonus VP that can be earned from battles if players meet certain conditions.
  
  • Bonus VP can be seen applying to base VP in the post-battle menu alongside the battle MVP.
  • A series of slide-ins will show the exact amounts of Bonus VP and what they are earned from.
• When you lose a defense battle, there is no loss of VP (like there was with the old PvP Score). There may be a mode in a future update where VP can be lost, but in 7.3 (with Quick Battle the only mode available) there is no VP loss at this time.

• The PvP system contains 2 new currencies that can only be earned from PvP
  
  • Silver Marks – You earn these as rewards from playing PvP Battles every day, as well as for completing other various simple objectives.
  • Gold Marks – These are a little harder to obtain, and come from completing weekly goals. They can also be purchased in the PvP Shop.
• Both Gold and Silver Marks can be spent in the PvP Shop (see details of what is available below)

• There are 10 Regions on the PvP World Map.
  
• To play PvP, players simply select a Region ,and then choose Quick Battle – this will allow them to choose 1 of 3 enemies, just like the old system.
  
• Players may also select a Region and view info on their battles in that region.
  
• More features and modes will be added to the Region Menus in future updates.
  
• The 10 Regions are divided into 3 sections: Center Ring, Inner Ring and Outer Ring.
  
  • Central Ring (1 region): Central Spire
  • Inner Ring (3 regions): Aidania, Southwild, Geheron
  • Outer Ring (6 regions): Winter’s Reach, Ancient Khet, Bay of Stars, Maraji Expanse, Summer Isle, Broken Lands
• Each of these Regions is related to 3-4 kingdoms that fall within its borders – exactly how that affects gameplay is described below.
  
• Central Ring (Central Spire)
  This is available to all players
  There are no restrictions on teams
  Playing PvP in Central Spire is very much like playing the old PvP system.
  
• Inner Ring (Aidania, Southwild, Geheron)
  Teams are restricted by troop/weapon color
  Only players in Silver League and above may play PvP here
  
• Outer Ring (Winter’s Reach, Ancient Khet, Bay of Stars, Maraji Expanse, Summer Isle, Broken Lands):
  Teams are restricted by troop type or kingdom
  Only players in Gold League and above may play PvP here
  
• Team restrictions for Inner & Outer Rings will change every week, and are related to the Kingdoms found “within” that region.
  
• Restrictions are displayed on the PvP World Map, the Region Menu, and the Pre-Battle Menu
  
• More information on Leagues can be found below.

• In much the same way that some Kingdoms give bonus Mythstones for Explore, PvP Regions can give bonus Silver Marks for PvP
  
• If a Region has a Silver Mark bonus, then winning 5 PvP battles there will grant you some Silver Marks, and will move the bonus to a new region. The base Silver Mark values are:
  
• Central Ring: 10 Silver Mark bonus
  
• Inner Ring: 15 Silver Mark Bonus
  
• Outer Ring: 20 Silver Mark bonus
  
• Starting in Sapphire League the amount of Silver Marks earned from a Region Bonus will increase by +1, up to +5 in Diamond League.
  
• The bonus will always remain within the Regions you have unlocked
  
• There are limitations to how many Silver Mark bonuses you can collect in a day, based on your league. These limits relax the higher you go.
  
• 2 for Bronze League
  
• 3 for Silver League
  
• 4 for Gold League
  
• 5 for Platinum League
  
• Unlimited for Emerald League and beyond (there are 10 Leagues)

• The old PvP Weekly Ranks have been replaced with a new system called PvP Goals.
  
• PvP Goals are a weekly series of VP milestones to work towards
  
• There are 20 Ranks in the PvP Goals, which each give a reward when they are reached
  
• Both Silver Marks and Gold Marks can be earned here each week.
  
• PvP Goals introduces 2 new timed Boosters – Gold Boosters and Soul Boosters. Like XP Boosters, these timed boosters will give bonuses for Gold or Souls in battles (for 15 minutes).
  
• PvP Goals can be viewed from the PvP Goals button on the left
  
• To collect completed goals, a player must go into the PvP Goals Menu and select the Collect button.

• Talismans are a new collectible item that can give a 1-time buff in a PvP Battle, much like Trinkets give a 1-time buff in Underspire.
  
• To activate a Talisman, select a blank slot on the left-side of the Choose-An-Enemy Menu in Quick Battle mode – that type of Talisman will continue to be used in each subsequent battle until you turn it off)
  
• Talismans are purchasable from the PvP Shop
  
• Currently Talismans will only help the Attacker, but we have plans for Talismans to help Defenders in a future update

• There are 2 types of ladders in PvP – PvP Leagues and Global Leaderboard.
  
• Global Leaderboard functions very similarly to the old Global Leaderboard, tracking the overall leaders (but with VP now, rather than PvP Score)
  
• PvP Leagues are new, and should give all players something to aim at every week, not just the very top players
  
• There are 10 PvP Leagues: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Emerald, Sapphire, Amethyst, Topaz, Ruby, and Diamond
  
• When 7.3 launches, players will be placed into a league based upon the “Path” they are on:
  
  • Adventurer’s Path (Levels 1-100): Bronze League
  • Guardian’s Path (Levels 101-250): Silver League
  • Champion’s Path (Levels 251-500): Gold League
  • Paragon’s Path (Levels 501-1000): Platinum League
  • Exalted Path (Levels 1001+): Emerald League
• Each week, you will be given 29 other players from your League to compete against and ranked via your VP (in the rare case of a tie, the older account wins).
  
• Each League has a “Promotion Zone”… finish in the promotion zone to go up one league (unless you are in Diamond)
  
• Each League has a “Demotion Zone”… if you finish in there you will drop one league (unless you are in Bronze)
  
• Promotion Zones get smaller as the leagues get higher, but average around 7 players.
  
• Demotion Zones vary too, but are more consistently around 7 players.
  
• If you finish in the top 3 players in your League, you win some Gold Marks (with more marks available in higher leagues)
  
• You will not drop down a league if you do not play for the entire weekly event.

It’s important to note that these groups of players in Leagues are not symmetrical – just because a player is in your group of 30, does not imply you will automatically be in their group of 30. While we are seeding people into Leagues, in the early days of this system, you may find that some players in your group of 30 are actually in a different League to you – this is expected, and should resolve after some time has passed.

• The PvP Shop is a new style of Shop for PvP, with 5 different tabs
  
  • Home Tab: This is where you start – it will always highlight one of the main PvP offers.
  • Premium Tab: Players can purchase offers with real money transactions
  • Talismans Tab: Spend Marks to purchase Talismans that can help you in PvP Battles
  • Pets Tab: Spend Marks to purchase PvP Pets, only 4 Pets will be available each week, along with an Orb of Minions
  • Other Tab: Spend Gold Marks to purchase some rarer resources, including a random Book of Deeds.
• Players can view their current VP and Marks in the top right corner of the PvP Shop Menu
  
• Many offers in the PvP Shop have VP requirements, the better the reward the more VP will be required to have access to it. Note that this VP is not “spent” upon purchasing the office, your VP total simply unlocks it
  
• Some Offers like the Gold Mark pack or Pets have limitations for how many times they can be purchased within a timeframe, for example
  
  • The Gold Mark Pack can be purchased only once per Day
  • The Pet Pack can be purchased only once per week
  
  
  PvP Pets
  
  
  • PvP Pets are new Pets whose bonuses only apply to teams within a defined Region.
    
  • Each region currently has 2 possible PvP Pets
    
  • We will add more PvP Pets in future updates.
• The Pet Pack can be purchased only once per week

There have been some other changes to PvP necessitated by the new design. These are listed below:

• Ranked PVP has been renamed Quick Battle, while Casual PvP has been removed.
  
• Players no longer define a PvP Defence Team – the team you attack with will be the team that other players face.
  
• PvP Revenge battles have been removed.
  
• We have made improvements to matchmaking which take higher team score into account
  
  • We will be monitoring this and will make adjustments on the server after 7.3 releases
• The old PvP System gave some Glory every day for logging in based on your Rank. This was implemented at a time when there were far fewer ways to obtain Glory. This has now been changed so that you will receive Silver Marks every day instead, based upon the League you are currently in (from 1 per day in Bronze League, up to 10 per day in Diamond).

With all the PVP changes in the 7.3 Update, we will be currently delaying the next Guild Wars. This will allow us to make sure the new changes have not caused issues in Guild Wars.

We have added a new Status Effect: Terror.

Troops affected by Terror have a small (10%) chance at the start of each turn to move down 1 spot in their Team (this is resolved from bottom most Troop to the Troop in first position). If a Troop is already in last position when the Terror triggers, they will run away from the battle…
Cowards!

Terror has a chance to cleanse at the start of each turn similar to other negative status effects (such as Burn or Death Mark). Troops with Impervious or Invulnerable traits will be immune to Terror.

New Spells and Traits based on Terror will be coming as part of an upcoming kingdom release.

We have added a new set of Cosmic Dragons, and their weapons, to the Soulforge for crafting using Dragonite. Like the Gem Dragons, there is a Cosmic Egg that will randomly give 1 of 6 possible colored Cosmic Dragons. There are also 2 Legendary Weapons, 1 Mythic Weapon, and a new Prismatic Dragon which can only be obtained from crafting in the Soulforge.

These new Dragons cost a little more than their Gem Dragon counterparts, but they are a little tougher too.

Cosmic Dragons will only be encountered in Soulforge for now, but will appear as potential battles for Dungeons and Underspire in a future update.

We have 2 new Achievements for this update:

• Up All Night to Get VP: Earn 1,000 VP in a Season (Season Zero counts for this)
  
• Ranks for the Memories: Earn all 20 ranks in the the Weekly PvP Goals

We have also made some changes to previous achievements that were related to the old PvP System:

• Gladiator: Reach rank 5 in Weekly PvP Goals
  
• Reaver: Reach rank 10 in Weekly PvP Goals
  
• Champion of PvP: Reach rank 15 in Weekly PvP Goals
  
• Defender: Win a PvP Defence battle

We have added in 2 new Heroic Gems for future Campaigns and content.

• Campaign Tasks were not counting towards the Hard Taskmaster Achievement.
  
• Pplayers on iOS were seeing an error message when they tried to collect rewards from Guardian Chest.
  
• Glory being earned from battles other than PvP was not counting towards the Glory Hound task.
  
• The green “!” icon would only appear for the first initial mail in a play session and wasn’t notifying players when they got additional mail.
  
• We have fixed an assortment of smaller issues.

We have made some improvements to Underspire, as well as introduced a new encounter, Treasure Guardians.

These changes require a new Underspire map to be generated after you've updated the game, so please note any Underspire progress you've made since weekly reset Monday 23rd 7am GMT will be reset after you've updated.

• Treasure Guardians are a new type of battle encounter in the Underspire.
• Treasure Guardian encounters will appear at the end of Dead-Ends.
  • Dead-Ends are paths that don ’t contain a Mini-Boss or Goblin Merchant.
  • Not all Dead-Ends will contain a Treasure Guardian
• There are 6 different Treasure Guardians that players may encounter, each with an equal chance to appear. They are new Legendary Troops in the game (There is more info about how to get them further down).
• Treasure Guardian rooms can appear at any rarity (Common, Rare, Ultra-Rare, Epic, Legendary, or Mythic). The higher the rarity, the rarer the room is to appear.
• After defeating a Treasure Guardian, its location on the Underspire Map will be replaced with a Guardian Chest.
  • This is to prevent players, who may disconnect after a battle ends, from losing their rewards.
• The rarity of the Treasure Guardian room will determine the rarity of the Guardian Chest, with rarer rewards being available in the higher rarity rooms.
• Some rewards that can be earned (depending on the room rarity) include (but are not limited to): Torches, Lanterns, Random Trinkets, Dragonite, Jewels, Traitstones, and Vault Keys.
• The Treasure Guardian troops themselves have a chance to drop from the Guardian Chests too.
  • This is the only means to earn the Treasure Guardian Troops.
• We have changed Lanterns so any unused Lanterns carry over each week, and are not lost when weekly reset occurs.
• We have changed Trinkets so any unused Trinkets carry over each week, and not lost when weekly reset occurs.
• Torches are still gained and lost as they were previously.

Please note: the Giant Sentinel ’s art was not finished before the update was submitted, so we have temporarily used the Elemental Sentinel ’s art for him. He will receive his correct art in the 7.3 Update.

We have introduced 3 new Offers for players to purchase and enjoy –Alastair ’s Weapon Cache, Harper ’s Magical Menagerie, and Marid ’s Lucky Lamp.

• Alastair ’s Weapon Cache replaces the previous Weapon Flash Offer that would occasionally appear to players.
• Alastair ’s Weapon Cache appears every Monday, after weekly reset.
• The Weapon Cache offer is similar to the previous Weapon Flash Offer, and will still offer past event weapons that a player doesn ’t own, along with 100 Gems (also the same as before). New to the offer is 3 Ingots or Forge Scrolls (depending on the weapon).
• Weapon Cache offers costs $4.99USD, the same as the previous flash offer.
• If players own all event weapons, they should not get this offer.
• Harper ’s Magical Menagerie replaces the previous Pet Flash Offer that would occasionally appear to players.
• Harper ’s Magical Menagerie appears every Tuesday, after daily reset.
• Harper ’s Magical Menagerie is a series of 3 Offers around a single Pet. 
  • Offer 1: 1x Pet, 7x Colored Pet Food, 50 Gems for $1.99 USD
  • Offer 2: 10x Pet, 33x Colored Pet Food, 100 Gems for $9.99 USD
  • Offer 3: 20x Pet, 65x Colored Pet Food, 150 Gems for $14.99 USD

(PlayStation Players will receive Gem Keys instead of Gems, due to some restrictions on that platform).

• Purchasing all 3 Harper ’s Magical Menagerie Offers should give you enough copies of the Pet and Pet Food to fully upgrade an unowned Pet.
• Unlike the previous Pet Flash Offer, Harper ’s Magical Menagerie doesn ’t only offer Cosmetic Pets, but will also include any Pet that could be earned from a Pet Gnome.
  • Exclusive Pets –such as Faction Pets, Starry Pets or Platform exclusive Pets will not be offered.
• Harper ’s Magical Menagerie will seek to offer Pets which players either do not own, or have not yet fully upgraded.
• Purchasing all 3 Offers will give players a bonus Major Orb of Minions.
• If players have all Pets fully upgraded, they should not get this offer.
• Marid ’s Lucky Lamp is a completely new offer for purchase in Gems of War.
• Marid ’s Lucky Lamp appears every Thursday, after daily reset.
• Marid ’s Lucky Lamp contains 10 possible rewards that players could receive. The chance for the rewards are viewable via the help button (similar to the Chest menu).
• When purchased, Players will receive achoice between 2 Rewards. Players may then pick the reward they would prefer to receive.
• Rewards include: Orb of Minions, Orb of Ingots, Orb of Glory, Minor Traitstone Pack (6x all Colors), Major Traitstone Pack (6x all Colors), Runic Traitstone Pack (6x all Colors), Ingot Pack (6x Epic, Legendary + Mythic Ingots), Vault Key Pack (3 Vault Keys + 2 Epic Vault Keys), and Soulforge Pack (100 Diamonds + 25 Cursed Runes).
• Purchasing Marid ’s Lucky Lamp all 3 times will give players a bonus Orb of Chaos.
• Marid ’s Lucky Lamp offers costs $1.99USD.

We have updated the World Map UI to the new UI style, while also taking the time to make some improvements to this screen. As the game has evolved over the years, we have added new game modes and events, making those events more difficult for players to find.

With the new World Map UI we have tried to improve 2 areas:

• Events, Activities, and Resources were Hidden in Menus: We had many events that could only be accessed from the Games menu (sometimes requiring players to scroll to the end of the menu to find them). The player ’s inventory is also hidden within the Hero Menu. We wanted a way to surface these events and also make accessing the player ’s inventory much easier.
• There were Too Many Floating Icons on the World Map: Holiday Events, Kingdom Pass and Player Paths all lived on the world Map as floating icons. This caused issues with controllers on some platforms. It also meant some parts of the UI could be mistaken for parts of the World Map. Our aim here was to correct these two issues.

We have more details about the changes to the World Map UI below:

• The UI has been updated to match the new style that we have been introducing into the rest of the game.
• The bottom of the menu remains mostly the same with only a few changes.
  • Troops have been renamed to Collection, to reflect the fact that banners, weapons, and pets live in there too.
  • Chests will now no longer display key counts above 999, but will display it as 999+
  • The 3 buttons to the left of the central button can be changed by tapping on the UI element next to them with the pips.
    • The default 3 buttons displayed are PvP, Games, and Guild
    • The secondary 3 buttons include Settings, News, and Calendar
• Player Path, Medals and Chat now all live along the top of the menu.
• The Left-hand side of the menu is now where all activities + events will appear.
  • This includes weekly Guild Events, Daily Events, Special Events (like Kingdom Passes), Campaigns, Adventure Board, and World Quests.
  • Adventure Board has been renamed Adventure but will still function the same way.
• The Right-hand side now contains any Flash Offers, Event Offers, the Offer menu, or Rewarded Ads (for Mobile).
• Both the left and right side areas of the UI will scroll if there are 4+ buttons listed on that side.
  • There is a “…” icon that will appear alongside the icons to let players know when there are more events or offers in the list.
  • An “!” icon will also appear if there are new events or offers that a player has not viewed previously.
• In the Settings/Graphics menu players are able to turn off all the button text for the side buttons or bottom buttons (or all main UI buttons).
• The Mail Icon now lives above the right-side area near the primary resources.
• We have reduced the resources displayed on the World Map to the 3 primary Resources: Gems, Gold, and Souls.
• Next to the Primary resources is a button that players can interact with to open the Resource Wallet.
• The Resource Wallet is the player ’s inventory.
• We have made some changes to the inventory/ resource wallet to tidy up the way resources have been grouped.
  • Guild Gifts are now part of the Resource group.
  • Vault Keys, Epic Vault Keys, Gnome Baits, and Verses now all live in the same group called Gnomes.
  • Jewel Shards, Jewels, Cursed Runes, and Dragonite now all live in the same group called Soulforge.
• We have changed the order of groups in the inventory/resource wallet to try and keep more used groups higher up in the list. The order is now:
  • Resources
  • Soulforge
  • Gnomes
  • Keys
  • Orbs
  • Traitstones
  • Ingots
  • Forge Scrolls
  • Deeds
  • Pet Food
  • Shiny Tokens
  • Artifacts
• We have a new green ! icon that will appear on relevant buttons to match the new style and replace the older circle version of the icon.
• For new players who have features on the World Map locked, they will see a new lock icon which will also display the level at which the feature will unlock.

We have 3 new Achievements for this update:

• Who Guards the Guardians: Defeat 3 Treasure Guardians in Underspire.
• Time After Time: Match 100 Hourglass Gems.
• My Stuff Is So Shiny: Upgrade 8 Troops to Shiny Level 1.

• We have added a limit to the number of Gnome-a-Paloozas that can be crafted at once to 4 (as we had a few players who have accidentally crafted more than intended).
• We have removed the Troop art from the Buy Tiers I-VI button in World Events, as some players were confused when they didn ’t always get the Troops displayed (it was a chance to drop with other event troops).
• The first weekly reset after the 7.2 Update releases, the available Warbands will be swapped around so Fire and Fury, Goblin Gang, and Dark Assassins Warbands will replace Vampiric Thirst, Armored Legion, and Entangled Woods Warbands.

• We have fixed an issue where Enemy Troops in Kingdoms would mimic the player ’s Shiny Troops.
• We have fixed an issue where players could not view the Troop Cards in the popup menu for the Path Pass+.
• We have fixed a visual issue where the Lantern appeared squished in the Goblin Merchant menu.
• We have fixed an issue where players could use the team codes to bypass Kingdom Restrictions in Underspire.
• We have fixed an issue where Soulforge was displaying that it had an Upgrade Available even if it was Level 20.
• We have fixed an issue where the Pet Rescue announcement popup would sometimes display %1 instead of the time remaining.
• We have fixed an issue where trying to open Underspire would sometimes open the Kingdom ’s Explore Menu instead.
• We have fixed an issue where the Booty Gem was not giving Gold to the AI team.
• We have fixed an assortment of smaller issues.

We are aware of the following issues, and they should be fixed in the 7.3 Update:

• The bottom 3 buttons that can switch, may revert back to the Settings/ News/ Calendar buttons when returning to the World Map.
• The tutorial for the Games menu is pointing to the Event button instead.
• The Chat popup with updated text may appear towards the bottom of the World Map menu.
• The 3 Bottom Left buttons may wander off the menu (playing a battle, and returning to the world map should fix this issue).
• French Translations for 7.2 are currently missing.

We took the Adventurer’s Path and changed it into a new system that supports new Paths for
different parts of the player’s journey.

● There are now 5 Paths, based on a Player’s Level:
○ Adventurer’s Path: Players Level 1-100
○ Guardian’s Path: Players Level 101-250
○ Champion’s Path: Players Level 251-500
○ Paragon’s Path: Players Level 501-1000
○ Exalted Path: Players Level 1001+

● All Paths contain the following areas:
○ Hero Level
○ Path Chest
○ Shop
○ Daily Tasks + Progress

● Like Adventurer’s Path, Hero Level menu is where players can earn rewards for reaching milestone Hero Levels while they play.

● There is both a free track and paid track for each Path, that does increase in price for Paths:
○ Adventurer’s Pass+: $4.99 USD
○ Guardian’s Pass+: $7.99 USD
○ Champion’s Pass+: $9.99 USD
○ Paragon’s Pass+: $14.99 USD
○ Exalted Pass+: $14.99 USD (for each 500 Levels)

● The Exalted Path’s Hero Level resets every 500 Levels, so players will continue receiving rewards for levelling up
○ They will also need to purchase the Exalted Pass+ every 500 levels to continue collecting the rewards from the paid track.

● Path Chests contain Troops (each path gives different Troops), and bonus Rewards that should be relevant to the player’s level.
○ E.g. Adventurer’s Path Chests may give Gold, Souls, or low rarity Ingots; while the Exalted Path Chests may give Cursed Runes, Dragonite or Diamonds.

● The Path Shops for Guardian, Champion, Paragon, and Exalted will allow players to purchase their Daily Deals and the Ring of Wonder subscription from the shop menu, along with the Hero Level Pass+ for that Path.
○ We will look to set up unique Offers like we have in the Adventurer’s Path for each path in a future update.

● Daily Tasks is a new addition to the Path system that is intended to give players targets they can do for the day if they don’t have any goals in mind, or can be achieved through regular gameplay.

● Players will get 3 Daily Tasks daily to complete, with each Path having Tasks targeted towards that level range (so Tasks for Guardian’s Path are not always the same as other Paths, or have lower targets to be achieved compared to the same Task for a higher Path).

● Daily Tasks, like Campaign Tasks, have a “Go to Task” button that should take you to the area they needed to progress that Task.

● Completing a Task marks it as complete and the Task card will turn Green. Players will still be able to use the “Go to Task” button to direct them to areas of the game if they wish.

● After players complete all 3 Tasks, they will receive Daily Progress Reward – a 15 minute XP Booster.

● XP Boosters will give double XP from battles while they are running.

● If an XP Booster is collected or earned while another is running, it will stack the times together.

● If players are unable to collect their earned Booster before Daily Reset, the XP Booster will be sent to the player via the mail.

● XP Boosters trigger once collected either from Path Menu or Mail Menu.

● Daily Tasks renew at Daily Reset, so any uncompleted Tasks will be lost.
○ This is intended so players do not get stuck with a Task they do not like.

● If players have any unused Keys when they finish a path, the game will use them to automatically open chests and then send the rewards via the in-game mail.

● If players have any uncollected rewards when they finish a path, the game will send the rewards via the in-game mail.

Please Note: We are aware that the current placement for the Path icon can cause the middle of the screen to look very crowded, especially on phones. We have a fix coming in the 7.2 Update, that will address this.


Adventurer’s Path has been updated to match the new Path System.

● Adventurer’s Path menu has been updated to the new Visual Style to match the other Paths.

● The Adventure option in Adventurer’s Path has been replaced with the Daily Task system.
○ There will be a Daily Task that will take players to a Kingdom for their current Quest (and help them unlock the Kingdom if it is not yet unlocked).

● Players will always have a Task each day related to Troops, which players will be able touse to access the Troop menu, to replace the Troop button that was on the previous version.

● Adventurer’s Path no longer directly gives Keys from playing battles in quests during the Adventurer’s Path (they are now given from the pass when you level-up, see below).

● We have made some changes to some of the rewards for Hero Level Pass and Adventurer’s Pass+
○ Level 1: Players now gain 1 Adventurer’s Key / 5 Adventurer’s Keys
(Adventurer’s Pass+) – this previously gave nothing
○ Level 36: Players now gain 2 Adventurer’s Keys / 4 Adventurer’s Keys
(Adventurer’s Pass+) – this previously gave 1 Gem Key / 2 Gem Keys
○ Level 48: Players now gain 2 Adventurer’s Keys / 4 Adventurer’s Keys
(Adventurer’s Pass+) – this previously gave 2000 Gold / 5000 Gold
○ Level 100: Players now gain 50 Cursed Runes – this previously gave 1 Cursed Rune

● Adventurer’s Chest menu now has the option to open 1 chest or multiple Chests


We have changed the Pause Menu in battles to make it easier to adjust common settings or access the Settings menu.

● Battle Pause Menu is broken down into 3 areas:
○ Settings: This area contains volume controls for Sound FX and Music.
○ Player & Enemy Stats: This is the information that players were able to view previously – Resources Earned/ Maxed, Banner Mana Bonuses, Mana Surge chances.
○ Battle Info: This is where the timer for the battle and Retreat button lives.

● Players are still able to access the full Settings Menu by tapping on the More Settings button.
● Players can use the arrows at the bottom of the Player Stats area to cycle between the 3 sets of information for both sides.
○ It will always default to the Mana Chance information first.
○ The game will try to remember the last set of information displayed during the player’s game session and display that when viewed again during that game session.

● The Pause Menu in Treasure Hunt has also been updated with this new style, it looks the same except that it does not have the Player & Enemy Stats.
○ The Treasure Hunt info previously shared on that menu is also viewable while playing, so it was not required on the new layout.

We have added support for Headstart and Heroic Boosters to World events.

● World Events will now have a Headstart Offer appear in the 48hrs leading up to the start of the event.

● Heroic Boosters will also appear for World events 48 hrs after it starts.

Due to the modular and individual nature of World Events, we will be keeping an eye on how the Headstart behaves during the first few events.


We have 2 new Achievements for this update:

● Geoff is a Legend: Type ‘Geoff is a Legend’ into global chat.
● Path Finder: Complete all ‘Path’ Tasks in a single day


We have made some improvements to the new Troop Cards based on player feedback:
○ Mana Cost has returned onto the Mana Orb and the text color has returned to white
○ We have changed the font for Mana Cost, Attack, Life and Armor so it’s chunkier, making it easier to read on smaller devices.
○ We have made the text for Life, Armor and Attack slightly bigger
○ We have adjusted the Green + Yellow Text for when a player’s Skill Points have been buffed or decreased to be easier to read on Green and Yellow Mana Banners
○ Weapon Cards now have Rarity Stars in the bottom right of the card with the number of Stars related to the weapon’s rarity.

● We have improved the battle icons on the Delve Maps:
○ Common + Start Room Icons are more white than gray when available
○ Room Rarity Stars on the icons have been made larger
○ Symbols on the unavailable rooms have been given some color to make it easier to see them on the card icon.

● Golden Holiday Battle Bundle will now give an Orb of Ascension when purchased 10 times.

● We have added the Hourglass Heroic Gem for an upcoming Campaign.

● We have added a new highlighter for selecting a Troop target for spells in the puzzle game while using a controller.

● When setting up a team, if you have a weapon equipped, it will show that weapon is equipped to the current team when viewing all weapons.

● We have made some improvements to Headstarts for Tower of Doom and Journey Events:
○ TOWER OF DOOM: The headstart offer now gives the Forge Scrolls that players would have earned from the Dooms defeated by the Headstart, as well a new bonus reward of an Orb of Forging. They will also gain the Scrolls and Guild Boons they would have received on average from playing the event.
○ JOURNEY: The Headstart will now give Skill Point bonuses they would have received on average from playing the event.

● We have made some improvements to graphics for Android to help reduce the download sizes and storage required on Android devices.
○ Players may see some additional downloads as they continue to play the game, but the upfront download should be improved.


We have fixed a visual issue where Bronze Troops were not displaying their Bronze card frame.

● We have fixed a visual issue where returning from the Troop Overview menu for a Shiny Troop, will not display the reduced Mana Cost in the Troop Menu

● We have fixed an issue with Suggest a Troop, where it would recommend weapons that don’t match the Kingdom restrictions.

● We have fixed an issue where if a player returns to the weekly Kingdom’s menu after playing explore in another Kingdom, the Underspire button and Explore buttons appear to overlap, and would take players to that Kingdom’s Explore instead of Underspire.

● We have fixed the issue where the Lantern icons would appear fuzzy in the Goblin Merchant store in the Underspire.

● We have fixed an issue where players’ Torches/ Lanterns were not updating correctly after purchase unless the player played a Underspire battle.

● We have fixed an exploit where the Event Captains’ “double magic” would re-apply each time a Troop was summoned into the battle.

● We have fixed an assortment of smaller issues.

Underspire is a new weekly game mode that is similar to the old school sprawling dungeons in tabletop RPGs. It is also a mash-up of Explore, Delve and Journey events.

The goal of Underspire is to work your way through a mega-dungeon, fighting through 6 Mini Bosses, earning Keystones to unlock doors and searching for the final boss room, where you can earn Dragonite and Diamonds. There are plenty of other valuable rewards along the way though.

• Underspire is a mash-up of Explore, Delve and Journey events.
  
• The goal of Underspire is to work your way through a mega-dungeon, searching for the final boss room, where you can earn Dragonite and Diamonds. There are plenty of other valuable rewards along the way though.
  
• Underspire will replace Explore for the Weekly Kingdom (all other Kingdoms will still have Explore available).
  • Explore Progress will resume once the week is over.
    
  • The Weekly Kingdom will not get the Mythstone Bonus while it has Underspire active.
• Underspire is also available from the Games menu (it has replaced Arena near the start of the menu along the bottom).
  • Arena can be found further into the menu.
• Underspire will be tied to the Weekly Kingdom, so players will need to use Troops and Weapons from that Kingdom in battles for that week.
  
• The Underspire Map begins play as hidden (apart from the starting room). Players need to uncover the Underspire map as they play. Only the adjacent Rooms to their current room will be uncovered.
  
• Underspire Maps will be unique to a player so everyone will have a different map each week.
  • However, all players will have important locations of similar distance (there is a randomness to the distance but it is balanced to be as close as possible for all players).
• Each battle will require either 1 Torch or 1 Lantern to play – these are a form of Energy for the event.
  
• Torches are the basic free form of energy
  • Torches allow you to play a battle, and players will earn up to 7 Torches per day for free, which will stack when earned each day.
    
  • Players can purchase 5 more Torches in the Torches bundle up to 3 times per day.
    
  • Like purchasing further Delve Energy, the cost starts at 50 Gems but will increase with each purchase per day before resetting at Daily Reset.
• Lanterns are an advanced premium form of energy
  • Lanterns can only be gained by purchasing the Lantern Booster pack, which contains 5 lanterns.
    
  • There is no cap to how many times you can purchase lanterns, or to how many lanterns you can have. Excess lanterns will be lost at the end of the event though.
    
  • Lanterns will increase the vision of adjacent rooms by 1 (beyond what Torches show), allowing players to see 2 rooms away, giving more information about possible directions to take.
    
  • Like the Golden Holiday Booster in Holiday events, players will gain a bonus reward for purchasing the Lantern Booster 3 times, and 5 times.
• Players will be able to get 1 free Lantern from the first Goblin Merchant they encounter in Underspire.
  
• Some paths in the Underspire will be blocked and will require a Keystone to get past.
  
• There are 6 rarities of Keystones, and they will all need to be collected in order to
  
• progress through the Underspire and reach the final boss room.
  
• There are 2 ways to get a Keystone: Defeating a Mini Boss or Purchasing it from a Goblin Merchant.
  
• There are 6 Mini Bosses – one for each Keystone. The first Mini Boss can be reached without any requirements, but each following Mini Boss will require the previous Mini Boss’ Keystone to access the area of the dungeon where they are located.
  
• Each Mini Boss also contains extra bonus rewards that are unique to that Mini Boss.
  
• Players may discover a Merchant Room while exploring the dungeon, which will open up the Goblin Merchant’s shop.
  
• There are only 6 Goblin Merchants in an Underspire, and they each sell:
  • 1 Keystone (of appropriate level based on Merchant’s location)
    
  • 2 Random Trinkets (each can be purchased in groups of 5)
    • The first Goblin Merchant replaces 1 Trinket with his free Lantern offer.
• Players can return to a Goblin Merchant to purchase more Trinkets from them if they wish.
  
• There are 6 different types of Trinkets that players can collect, each with their own effect that will apply to the battle.
  • Frost Trinket – Freezes all enemies at the start of battle
    
  • Bone Trinket – Creates 6 Doomskulls at the start of battle
    
  • Death Trinket – Deathmarks all enemies at the start of battle
    
  • Hex Trinket – Curses all enemies at the start of battle
    
  • Wild Trinket – Creates 4 x3 Wildcards at the start of battle
    
  • Resistance Trinket – Gives the Spell Armor trait to all allies for the battle
• Trinkets can only be used in a single battle before they are consumed.
  
• Players can choose which battles they would like to use their Trinkets in, so they can save them for harder battles if they prefer.
  
• After players defeat all 6 Mini Bosses (or purchase all 6 Keystones), they will be able to access the final Boss for Underspire.
  
• Other battles will use Rooms that players may have encountered in Delves, or Tower of Doom. This includes Start, Boss and Doom rooms.
  • The regular Room rewards from these Rooms are not given as they are unique to either Delves or Tower of Doom.
• There is a mini map that players can use to view the Underspire that they have revealed so far.
  
• Key locations are visible on the Mini Map (i.e. Goblin Merchant, Bosses, Keystones, Undefeated Battles).
  
• Players can tap on a location to be taken to that spot in the Underspire.
  • Players will need to close the Mimi Map before they can see that they have moved.
• Players will be able to access the Deep Shrine menu from the Underspire menu when it’s active. (More on Deep Shrines below)

• We have updated the visuals for Troop cards to a new style.
  
• Troop cards will now focus more on the Mana Colors of a Troop than the rarity.
  • This is to help newer players who get confused what Mana colors they need to collect to power up their Troops and particularly their Weapons. We also believe it looks more aesthetically pleasing.
• This visual update also applies to the Elite Level look for cards, which have been updated to match the new look.
  
• Weapons have colored stars under the weapon image that reflect the Weapon’s rarity.
  • This will match the background for the Weapon spell icon.
• Troops in Battles have also been updated to match this new style, this includes a new spell ready animation that appears on the card.
  
• Enemy Heroes will display their Class icon in battle on their Troop card.

We have introduced Shiny Troops to the game. For anyone who has been playing for 7 or more years, these aren’t like the previous “shiny” versions you encountered – which were reasonably subtle and displayed on cards at max level. Read below to learn more:

• Troops can now become Shiny Troops, and get a visual and gameplay update.
  • Only 30 Troops will be able to become Shiny when 7.0 launches. (See table below)
    
  • All 30 troops are Common, Rare, Ultra-Rare or Epic Troops.
    
  • There are plans for Legendary and Mythic Shiny Troops in a future update.
• Troops can become Shiny at any time and don’t require that the troop is fully ascended, leveled or traited.
  
• Shiny Troops have 3 Levels that each give a small bonus
  • Level 1: -1 Mana Cost to Troop’s Spell
    
  • Level 2: Enhanced version of the Troop’s Spell
    
  • Level 3: -1 Mana Cost to Troop’s Spell (stacks with the level 1 bonus)
• Each Level of Shiny Troop unlocks some lore for the Troop.
  
• Players will need to earn Shiny Tokens for a Troop in order to unlock Shiny Levels.
  
• Level 1: 5 Tokens Required
  
• Level 2: 10 more Tokens Required
  
• Level 3: 20 more Tokens Required
  
• Each Troop has their own Shiny Token, which can be earned from Shiny Chests.
  
• Shiny Chests are a new chest that can be accessed from the Chest Menu.
  
• Shiny Chests will give 1-3 Tokens for a Troop.
  
• Once a Troop has reached Shiny level 3 and maxed out, their Tokens will turn into 5 Shiny Dust.
  
• Players will be able to exchange 100 Shiny Dust for a Shiny Token for a Troop that is not Shiny Level 3.
  
• Players can earn Shiny Keys from end stage rewards in weekly events, or from new weekly event offers (read more about that below).
  
• Players can view a Troop’s Shiny Level Progress on the Troop’s Overview menu (More Options menu > Overview).
  
• Players will be able to access the Shiny Troop’s menu by tapping that area of the screen.
  
• Each week one of the newly released Troops will also be able to become Shiny, and their Token will be added to Shiny Chests.
  
• We will look to add additional Shiny Troops for other previously released Troops in future updates.

It’s time to mix things up a bit with weekly events!

We’ve been running World Events back to back for a couple of years now and we found ourselves missing the variety of week long Raid Bosses, Invasions and Towers of Doom. We also found that Journey were fun and we just wanted to experience all of those more often.

We are returning to a weekly guild event rotation, with Raid Boss and Invasion returning as weekly events alongside World, Journey and Tower of Doom events. Raid Boss, Invasion, Journey and Tower of Doom events have received some improvements as part of this change.

• Raid Boss, Invasion, Journey and Tower of Doom Overview menu for all events have received an update to clearly show current progress, highlight event troops (or weapon), and clearly show what the player restrictions are for that event.
  
• The Event Troops in Raid Boss, Invasion, and Journey Events are now defined as “Event Captains”.
  
• Event Captains gain double magic when used in their event, and for Raid Boss + Invasion, they also double the score earned from a battle.
  • E.g. Event Captain will count double the “Towers Destroyed” if used in the Invasion Event.
    
  • Journey Guides were already multiplying the score for Journey battles, so they have not received this update.
• Event Troops from older events will not be Event Captains, it will only apply to the Troop who is highlighted on the Event’s Overview menu (a new troop released that week).
  
• The Doomed Weapon in Tower of Doom will be the “Event Weapon”, which – in a similar vein – will give the double score bonus when used in its Tower of Doom event. (But not the double magic).
  
• Raid Boss has a new Boss Enemy that players will encounter, Ctharrasque.
  • There will be a craftable Ctharrasque in the Soulforge similar to Zuul’Goth.
    
  • This will be added to the Soulforge at weekly reset.
• In each Event Shop there is now a Buy Tiers I -VI option, that will purchase Tiers I – VI for the event, and give a bonus Orb of Chaos.
  • This Buy Tiers I -VI option is only available in weekly events, and not the 1-day/ weekend events like Faction Assault. We will look to add this feature to them in a future update.
    
  • We did not include Tier VII since it is repeatable and could cause confusion whether it was received or not.
• The Buy Tiers I -VI option is only available when players have not purchased any Tiers, and will disappear if players purchase Tier I.
  • There will be a warning that appears if players go to purchase Tier I, warning them that the Buy Tiers I -VI Option will disappear if they purchase Tier I.
• The gem cost for Buy Tiers I -VI is the same as purchasing Buy Tiers I -VI individually.
  
• We have 2 new Weekly Event Offers that will appear in the game – the Headstart Offer, and the Heroic Booster offer.
  • These new offers will not be available for World Events at this stage.
• The Headstart Offer will appear 48hrs before the next event begins, and runs up until the event starts at weekly Reset.
  
• The Headstart Offer will contain the following rewards:
  • Event Headstart – This will start the player further in the event, and give them some score based on the headstart. The Headstart is different in each event – it is roughly the equivalent of purchasing 20 Sigils and playing those battles.
    
  • 5 Shiny Troop Tokens – These Tokens will match the new Shiny Troop that will be released at weekly reset with that event.
    
  • 4 Shiny Keys – These will open Shiny Chests
    
  • Bonus Reward – This Reward changes depending on the event type.
• The Heroic Booster will appear 48 hours after the weekly event begins, and will run for 48 hours before disappearing.
  
• The Heroic Booster will contain the following rewards:
  • Potion of Heroism
    
  • 20 Sigils for the Event
    
  • 4 Shiny Keys
• The Potion of Heroism will give the player’s hero double magic when used in the weekly event.
  • This only applies to the weekly event, and will not apply to other game modes like PvP or explore.
• With all these changes we have adjusted the difficulty scaling in Raid Boss, Invasion, Tower of Doom and Journey Events at higher levels.
  • This has been done with free players in mind – players should be able to achieve similar rewards for free as they did previously.
• Along with these changes we have extended the Stage Rewards in these events from 12 Stages to 16 Stages.
  
• Some of the rewards at these higher Stages include-

• We introduced Weapon Restrictions to Raid Boss and Tower Doom, so weapons being taken into battle match the restrictions of the Troops.

• Deep Shrines have 5 levels of rewards that can be earned and purchased.
  
• Each level requires a different resource to collect:
  • Level 1: Gold
    
  • Level 2: Souls
    
  • Level 3: Glory
    
  • Level 4: Minor Colored Traitstones
    
  • Level 5: Runic Colored Traitstones
• Deep Shrines are tied to the 6 Mana Colors, and require Traitstones matching the Color of the Shrine at levels 4 and 5 (which will be the same as the color of the weekly Kingdom).
  
• Purchasing a Deep Shrine Level will also give extra rewards (on top of the resource)
  • Level 1 Bonus: 1 Orb of Chaos + a Underspire Pack
    
  • Level 2 Bonus: 2 Epic Vault Keys + a Underspire Pack

• Deep Shrines will always appear in the left most side of the Shrines Menu while active.
  
• Players will need to go into the Deep Shrine popup menu to purchase the Shrine.
  
• In the Deep Shrine menu players will be able to select each level to view them, but they must be earned and purchased in order.
  
• Deep Shrines last for 1 week, starting and ending with the weekly event.
  
• Deep Shrines are linked to the Underspire (a convenient place to get their rewards) but the resources can be earned in other game modes too.

We have 2 new Achievements for this update:

• A Diamond in the Rough: Upgrade 3 Troops to Shiny Level 1
  
• I’m So Shiny: Upgrade 5 Troops to Shiny Level 2

• The Shrine Menu has been updated to be a full screen menu and players can slide the Shrines horizontally to view them all.
  
• All Shrines will now display half the collectible reward or the current amount (whichever is higher)
  • Rather than players seeing 0 Gold when a new Shrine begins, which was causing confusion for some players.
• The Priestess from Whitehelm’s art has been updated. She is now one of the tutorial troops and she asked us if she could look her best. You can’t say no to a priestess…
  
• Trial Offers (Troops + Starry Pets) will now display a confirmation screen if the player tries to close the menu without purchasing anything.
  • Players gave us feedback that they were accidentally closing the menu
• The Opening Tutorial Sequence now has a help button that will bring the tutorial back up if new players want to review the tutorial or accidentally close it too quickly.
  
• We have made some improvements to the Intro Questline to make the battles quicker and easier for new players to complete.
  
• The World Map Menu UI now unlocks when players reach the World Map after the Intro Questline (instead of after the 2nd Quest of Broken Spire)
  
• Completing or Skipping a Campaign Task will now animate to make it clear that players have finished a Task and received a new one.
  
• We have removed the Settings option to Show/ Hide Spell Mana Details, as the new card layout allows the mana costs to live separately to the Mana Orb.
  
• We have added an animation when players complete a task, to make it easier to see when they have started a new Task.
  
• Players can now select the Bonus Reward item in flash offers to get the reward’s help text.
  • Newer players didn’t have a means to tell what a reward was.

We have fixed an assortment of smaller issues including, but not limited to:

• Fixing the visual issue in Advent Calendars where the Heading graphic was overlapping Heading Text for the Calendar.
  
• Fixing missing art on Mobile builds
  
• Fixing the issue on Switch that prevented players from getting into the game when the Summer Holiday event was active.
  
• Fixing a few of the wandering Genie/ Daemon buffs and debuffs that were misbehaving.

We are aware of the following issues which will be addressed in the next update.
