why is this game rated Pegi-16
Wanted it for my son, age 12, who's loves this kind of stuff.
'Realistic violence' really enough to justify this rating?
(he'll not play online, and sounds like that's dead anyway)

no worries, the game is not that violent. Check some ingame footage, and rate for yourself. In my opinion, it's nothing to worry about.

Plus: Unhelpful haters are unhelpful.

Quite frankly, there is nothing stopping you from purchasing this for your son. The classification only prohibits acquisition. It doesn't (technically) prohibit consumption. There is nothing stopping you, as a responsible parent, from sitting down with your son and educating him on the content within this game.

In terms of violence, it's not depicted in any horrific way, but it certainly presents some traumatic aspects of life. A child is never too young to learn about the themes in this game because one day you may very well be relying on them to recognise an emergency (in their own way) and picking up the phone and dialing the appropriate number.

So why not educate and entertain at the same time? :)

Its never violent. Just rate it like Astragon's game called Firefighting Simulator: The Squad, which is PEGI 7 for minor violence (breaking windows and doors.
