Login, check your mail for the PIN code, and you'll be accepted even without the invite. Worked for me. They're probably trying to measure who ends up playing by splitting them into 3 groups. People with accounts that got an invite, people with accounts that didn't, and people without anything.

Little update, you cannot reinstall Gigantic from Steam for this test. The file structure has changed so the Arc launcher won't even identify where Steam puts the game
