I've keep getting attacked by thieves, each segment from one town/village to another. Every move they pop up. I found the only way around this is, review your load, and wait till the notification of a robber shows again. Keep looking at your load. When it stops showing the robbers, you will be at your next destination. Then pay the robbers. But as soon as I start for my next destination, the robbers pop back up again. It's getting very annoying....
