Hello,
The fastest way to access the save folder is by pressing Windows Key + R and paste:
%appdata%/godot/app_userdata/chonkers

Alternatively, you can paste that path in any explorer window.

Thank you! I’ll try this when I can

unfortunately this is not working for me, i did exactly what ive seen other people be told to do so im not really sure what happened. i do not think this is fault of you guys though and do believe this may be some other problem. thank you for your help though
In your library right click Chonkers, manage, browse local files
Damn it just happened to me too.
Unfortunately I lost all my progress too. Yesterday there was a storm where I live and the PC turned off, when I turned it on and returned to the game, the entire save was reset :(

Sorry to hear that. Please refer to this procedure to restore your save file with the backup.
Most importantly, do not run the game with a blank save for more than 15 minutes or the backup will be overwritten with a blank save file.

There's a backup file in the save folder.
You will find the save folder, on Windows:
%appdata%/godot/app_userdata/chonkers
On Linux:
.local/share/godot/app_userdata/chonkers

In the folder you will find save_data.dat and save_data_backup.dat
  • Make a copy of those two files in a different folder, for safety.
  • Disable the Steam Cloud Sync for Chonkers (Right click in the library > Properties)
  • In the save folder, delete save_data.dat and rename save_data_backup.dat to save_data.dat
  • Start Chonkers and if everything is restored close the game and enable the Steam Cloud again.
  • Next time you run Chonkers the Cloud should give an error. Simply confirm the use of the most recent save file.
Please, let me know if your need more assistance.
