Arguably the best Star Wars game ever made.

This is a hard no for the modern gamer.

Unfortunately this was my first proper play through, so I have no nostalgia attached to it. I made a probably stupid move by not modding it at all and dove straight in, though I only had one crash to desktop to be fair. The first couple of hours were alright, but several towards the end were a complete and utter slog where you're inundated by a lot of padding.

The good:

- Being evil is pretty fun.
- The faux endings are pretty funny.

The bad:

- After a cutscene plays the game minimizes itself so you have to click it again. Probably wouldn't have been an issue if I wasn't lazy and modded it.
- Constantly would get stuck on the environment as well as companions.
- Companion AI is terrible, but I suppose I can't really complain about that given its age. Just a fair warning.
- Stun locks are frequent and long af.
- The faux endings can really screw you over if you don't save frequently; autosaves seem to feel pretty random.
- The last stretch of the game is drawn out with endless mob spawns, and your companions will refuse to budge and insist on fighting all of them. You have to essentially run toward the exits and hope to hell they will eventually follow you so you can continue.
- If you've played any of the more modern Bioware games, you'll find a lot of very familiar story beats and quirks.

Overall, my least favourite Bioware game, but I can see why it's beloved. It definitely appears to be a star for its time, but for the modern gamer it's an absolute nightmare.

yikes. really fun gameplay, but the ending literally ruined the entire experience. none of that made sense.
