This game, while dated compared to the likes of the Mass Effect Trilogy, is still the definitive BioWare experience. While some people will say it's Mass Effect, Jade Empire, Balder's Gate 1/2, or Dragon Age, KOTOR is still by far the best product they've ever put out in the world. If you haven't played this game, and you've been able to stay away from spoilers, you should absolutely play this. There are some easy mods to download on nexus to get it running on modern machines. Since I have downloaded them, I am running this with HD textures, character models, and backgrounds, while also playing it on an 45in Ultrawide monitor without stretching or distortion. You can play this and still get what you paid for your modern systems to do while also getting to experience of playing this game and being blown away by its terrific story.

Bought and play this solely for the RPG and I got what I want
Its really depend on what you looking to play and I think this is a good RPG for a game released on 2003 in my opinion.

Best Game Ever

Been playing KOTOR since I was nine and have returned to it every few years for a replay. Simply a classic game and a wondrous world to escape to with memorable characters. Playing with mods for the first time in 2024 definitely adds some variety, novelty, and a new lick of paint.

How this game has such positive reviews is beyond me. This game is in an absolutely unplayable state. You would think a 20 year old game would be able to run without much issue but you would be wrong. I have tried so many steps to get this game to work but nothing ends up actually doing it. The game constantly crashes to the point where I can no longer even progress in the lower city. I've never before had the misfortune of playing a game so unbelievably broken. I can't really say much about the actual game because of how little I experienced due to the mentioned issues.

Extremely nostalgic game for me, I remember playing this game constantly on my old android phone during middle and high school and it still holds up even to this day. A genuine masterpiece. 10/10

Other than the Manaan noise experience, perfect game. 12/10

Fine but buggy, visual glitches in certain places, there's like a ten second pause during certain actions (like when a NPC is the first to talk, access the workbench, etc.) sometimes the movement controls just stop becoming responsive at random, I had to turn off the shadows and grass and turn on V-Sync to work. Also there seems to be a stimulants/force powerup duration bug, that stays up indefinitely, the only way to reverse it is to get a player killed, which is really annoying. An update would be nice.

It's 2024 and I enjoyed this more than most games I've played in the last 10 years.
