I no longer see the mouse pointer

I installed the game for the first time, started it and played it for 3 hours. since I restarted it then the mouse pointer disappeared, the game would also respond to the commands but you don't see the mouse pointer (as if it were in touch screen mode) so it's practically unplayable.

There are older topics about it on the Internet, either covering Icewind Dale EE or the Baldur's Gate EE games. Have you searched for potential workarounds yet? There are some suggestions, such as editing/adding lines in the baldur.lua config file.

However, some trouble-shooting will be necessary. Particularly if you've updated your OS runtime environment meanwhile with driver updates and similar system level changes. Restarting the game once more can help, too. Using the Steam App's games library right-click menu and verifying local installation files is the most basic step during trouble-shooting, btw.
