They did have bigger maps at one point, you could build maps that used multiple map squares to make them hoooooge (if you had the patience and mad skills to make them... I didn't lol )

No good now for the multi-grid-maps but they have a steam group over at https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/groups/sd-map-makers

Massive shout out and big respect to TouriStarr, deez (think he lost his nutz ) and the other map makers who spent so much of their time making maps for us all to enjoy.

I've played a lot of stranded deep. Currently, I decided to start playing again, however, I faced a problem, when I went to build the fire, following the tutorial, it simply became dark, and I couldn't finish building it. The character moves, but cannot interact with the fire or anything else. I installed custom islands and some mods, in addition to the translation into Portuguese BR. I tested it again, without custom islands and without mods, as well as without the translation, so it worked. But it gets annoying, not being able to play with custom islands. Is there something that can solve this? Otherwise, I give up.

Since it is multiple things you added, it could be any one of those things breaking your ability to play.

I would add back in one thing, like "just" the translation, and see if everything works.

If so, add in just ONE mod
then another
etc. etc.
Until you find which one 'thing' breaks stuff. If you are lucky, maybe it's just one specific custom island that is the problem; in which case of course just do not use that particular island.

Project castaway may have bigger maps but it was supposed to be the new stranded deep of 2024. I felt it was a complete letdown and failed miserably. Launched with to many bugs and not enough content.
