How many people can you play in a co-op?

Hello, we are planning to play this game with friends, but there are 5 of us, and the lobby is designed for only 4 players. Is it possible to start with 5 players?

Unfortunately not, the lobby is designed for a max of 4 players. A fifth person can't join it once it's full.

Isn't 10 people a bit much for a heist? Not sure we have enough room in the van for everyone :p

Why even set a limit like 4 that is a great way to make uneccesery hinders for friends to play in group and take away fun from the game. Double it or even more. make it optionable to be how many u like. Game gets too easy? so what? Let the players decide.
Maybe its a technical issue idk im no expert on this but if its not then why would you set a limit?
