READ THIS: Rules and Guidelines for the TLD Forums on Steam
UPDATED, May, 2024
*****************************

Our goal with the TLD Steam community is to help foster a positive and inclusive forum for fans of the game to join together, help each other, ask questions, and share their love of the game. To that end, we have drafted and updated these Rules and Guidelines for the TLD forums on Steam. It's important that you read them and are familiar with them, as your inclusion in this community depends on your ability to operate within this framework.

Game communities are experiencing a rise in toxicity due to many societal factors. We still believe that the TLD community is one of the best in games, but it's not without issues.

If you feel, for whatever reason, that the Steam forums are not the right community for you, you can join the Official Community at: hinterlandforums.com, or unofficial communities in Reddit or Discord. Please note that the unofficial communities are not moderated by Hinterland, and therefore we cannot guarantee your safety and comfort in them. The Official Community at hinterlandforums.com is moderated by Hinterland.

Technical issues should be reported to the Support Portal: hinterlandgames.com/support

We will not tolerate any form of abuse, active or passive, directed at our community moderation team, our developers, or any other community members.

All trolls and abusers will be banned permanently, without warning. Anyone who is considered a serial "passive" abuser will be banned permanently, without warning. Anyone discussing piracy of the game, or any form of hacking, will be banned permanently, without warning. We will not discuss our decisions around moderation.

We feel that this kind of clear, decisive statement is the only way to ensure this community can remain positive and productive for the vast majority of our membership who are here to contribute to the discourse around the game, in a meaningful way. It is also necessary to protect our moderation team, and developers who may interact with the community.

The Hinterland Forums on Steam strive to be a place that is positive, inclusive, welcoming and comfortable. A community where intelligent, entertaining and meaningful conversations can occur. The rules are presented with these goals in mind.

As a member of this community, please do your part to make it an inclusive, welcoming place for other fans. Forum members who routinely try to bring others down, or generally try to ruin other people's fun, will be warned, and repeat offenders will be removed from the community.

Specific Guidelines

Do not do any of the following:

* Flame or insult other members
* Bypass any filters

Civil complaints about issues with the game are entirely acceptable. Constant attacks or accusations against the studio or members of the development team are not.
