We had that working. We just reduced our platforms to provide some focus. If there's interest, we can certainly get that working again.
There's interest. Or, at least, there are two of us who are definitely interested. ;)

Though, it's hard to say how many people running Linux are even looking at this, since games without Linux support aren't suggested to people running Steam on Linux. I only saw it because I'm running Windows on this computer. However, only one of my computers has Windows, so I don't buy games without Linux support.
I've changed computer this week, and i don't use dualboot anymore, only Linux. I forgot Servo was Windows only, so i can't play it, nooooo !

+1 Linux

Is the biggest problem having to QA test new builds on all platforms instead of just 1?

More or less. Adding a new platform isn't cheap, though it's not like adding Linux would be doing some other non-PC platform. Once we have all the stuff we think we need in for 1.0, we'll take a look at it.
It's not even starting with Wine / PlayOnLinux. Some other games do well with this option, but not Servo. I have other games to play, but i want Servo too...

I know we def have not tested that. Are you getting any servo.txt output at all?
If you decided you were definetly supporting mac and/or linux you could perhaps offer the untested native builds for them via steam beta branch opt ins. Because you can hide the branches behind passwords you'd be able to provide it only to people who read a post from one of you about how the other platforms aren't 100% supported yet, not tested etc. Maybe disable online for those builds so unforseen bugs don't ruin online play.

That's only if you were certain you were going to offer native builds eventually for other PC operating systems. If you did this I wouldn't advertise it, just quietly have builds available that people can check out.

Would people even want that? Completely untested experimental crossplatform branch with no online play but it at least runs natively? I only ever run windows so I have no skin in this game.

Servo has always been PC/Mac. And it cross-plays with Windows just fine. Always has.

We use the Steam branches every day;) Awesome feature. It's how we deploy our game for internal playtest.
Can you try not using "PC game" but "Windows game" instead, if your game is for Windows only ? Linux is a OS for the PC systems, just like Windows (and some minor other OS).

It should be "Win/Mac/Linux", not "PC/Mac/Linux".

When i see "game for PC" i always hope there is a Linux included in the "PC", but most of the time, it's only Windows (however, more and more developpers release their games to Linux too).

I think it has its importance for better understanding, but i also think it will be more important soon, when SteamOS and Vulcan and others will wake up.

Yes, fair point. I will pass that along to the folks who control that.
I didn't manage to launch the game on Linux with Wine/PlayOnLinux.

Anyone successful ?
+1 for GNU/Linux
+1 here as well! I'd say +3 actually because there are 3 Steam Linux gamers living in this household! :D Very excited about this possibility.
+1, but I understand if you temporarily focus on your larger customer bases
