We’ve always loved mythologies where gods aren't perfect — they're flawed, fierce, and far from untouchable. Norse mythology is rich with chaos, prophecy, betrayal, and rebirth — all themes that align naturally with roguelite design.

In Duriano, we didn’t want to simply borrow Norse gods as cameos. We wanted to build a world after the Divine Collapse — a catastrophic mythic event where realms shattered, gods fell, and only fragments of their power remain.

Now, in the ruins of that collapse, even something as strange as a cursed durian fruit can rise to challenge fate and reclaim divine power.

The gods you fight, the powers you inherit, the blessings you choose — everything is grounded in Norse symbols, trails, and fates. But it's filtered through our own chaotic, sometimes humorous, vision of what comes after the end of an age.

 
At the heart of Duriano is replayability. No run is the same. Between chamber types, enemy patterns, divine blessings, and build paths, our goal was to create something that feels fresh every time you play — but never random just for the sake of it.

Each system in the game reinforces this philosophy:

Valkyrian shines when paired with weapons that benefit from fast attack rates, like the Bows and Arrows or Elemental Spear, and God Trails that reward speed or crit-based builds — such as Hoor’s Trail. The bonus dash charge also gives her strong synergy with mobility-focused blessings and trail effects.

Pro Tips:

• Use the extra dash charge to weave between enemies and reposition aggressively.
• Stack attack speed upgrades to push Valkyrian’s DPS to insane levels.
• Be cautious with damage intake — you’re powerful, but fragile.
