I understand this answer is very late, but maybe it will be useful to someone in the future. Endless version check appears due to some problems with the internet connection. You can try accessing it through a VPN; if you are already using one, then change the VPN server. In general, try different VPN servers until you can log in. This will help in most cases.

Вощем если захотите поиграть из россии, но платить за впн серваки впадлу, то на бесплатных такая фигня часто будет встречаться. Когда первый раз такое увидел, подумал что меня забанили =-)
Но нет, просто что-то с серваком не так, другой надо искать.

Проблема была кстати в VPN-е, он у меня тогда не работал от слова совсем, но с нормальным ВПН заработал))
