How do I join the MLG Skeleton league for roundabout?

Every time I launch the game my pc is acting like it's performance is tanking but nothing is really being effected. The frame rate drops and it says it's running but it's not showing. I've looked to the trouble shooting suggestions but didn't find any solutions that worked. Anyone else having a similar problem? (Running a 3090 with a R9 5900)...
