"モンスターコマンダーズ - 混沌の戦略譚 -" or "Monster Commanders - Chaotic Strategy Story" is as incoherent as the title. What this really is, is complete garbage AI slop. It's a frontend fora text to image generative AI... you pay the developer a lot of money to use Stable Diffusion or some other garbage AI to create a crappy AI slop monster and then pretend to fight with it. Yeah, the developer is trying to get your money to generate AI slop, when you can just make your own for free. What a scam.

There's no English translation for the game, but that's okay. The language of bad games is universal.

As mentioned, this features really godawful, "wrong" looking AI slop instead of genuinely and sincerely created game assets. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating real game assets or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks bad because of that decision. AI slop sticks out like a sore thumb... and it comes across as insulting.

There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too, and that's glaringly obvious here.

On pricing and value for gamers, this isn't really free as the game is infested with mobile app store like microtransactions (to pay for the AI slop). This is a consumer hostile model that we don't need to see on PC. It's deceptively priced to gouge gamers, and that's a reason in itself to avoid this.

Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it?

Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.
