SP gets boring, people want to challenge other humans and one does not exclude the other.
Don't be stupid.
In a month there will be no one playing this anymore.
On the other hand, if the game has a good singleplayer campaign, it lives forever.
It's a pretty safe bet that a more alive community will result in more singleplayer content, whether that be add on missions/campaigns, or simply having more maps to skirmish on with CPU's. Doomers saying it'll be dead in a month are just being cynical; If the game is any good at all it'll at least have a niche but consistent audience like other RTT's like Men of War/Gates of Hell/WARNO/Steel Division/Nebulous that have kept living multiplayer for years.
It's not some all or nothing thing, not many RTS/RTT are purely MP or purely SP.
Syrian Warfare was a banger with DLC and NO multiplayer. Terminator Dark fate defiance is a banger with single player focus and continued DLC. These style RTSs shine in singleplayer. And quite frankly there isnt enough of them, then these guys decide shift focus to multiplayer and no single player. BIG WACK. Multiplayer will have no progression of any kind to keep your attention, it will simple be start up multiplayer game, select your units and throw them at your enemy. THATS IT. No building up your army, leveling up units, augmenting units with better gear, nothing. If someone could make a multiplayer RTS that encorporates the progression you can get in singleplayer i would be game but they dont
No one ever said a single player RTS has never in the history of ever existed, or never had DLC. Who are you arguing against? Multiplayer exists because it's what the majority of RTS/RTT players want on some level, whether it be COOP or PvP. It's existence doesn't mean your singleplayer experience is somehow being 'degraded', it's not like there's suddenly two separate games being worked on. A SP and MP package has been standard in this genre since it's inception in the 90's.
Your speaking on the assumption that there is a single player element to this game, and I suppose there is because you can play a multiplayer match against an AI but that's it. The issue isn't that there IS multiplayer, the issue IS that these guys do great single player, and there IS NO single player. Also I didn't just name single player RTS games, I named these guys games. The upset is these guys switched up and I enjoyed what they had before and want more of it. Pretty simple to understand, who are you arguing against.
A dev stated that it won't be there in another post. I hope they changed their minds.
Also just read the steam page. The writing is on the wall bro
"The «Front edge» is a real-time multiplayer tactical game" first line in steam page description XD. Also says fight in 1v1 2v2 and 2v1 asymmetrical fight, also test your self against a computer opponent (skirmish against an AI) blah blah blah. The steam page usually tells you alot about what a game is about, and this one talks alot about multiplayer. Doesn't say ♥♥♥♥ about a dynamic campaign, conquest mode, or any thing cool. Go argue with your mother, I have my own children to teach
I'm not the one 'arguing' here, just voicing a reasonable opinion rather than generic contrarian internet hate train. If you're a tourist that doesn't like RTS/RTT games all that much and feels threatened by the notion of having to deal with other players even having the option of facing each other, then I don't know what to tell you, go play a grognard game like Combat Mission or Armored Brigade where the consumer base is 100 people.
"No one has declared there will be no single player content" you "But you guys are focusing on multiplayer now" me. Didnt say NO SINGLE PLAYER dumbass i said multiplayer focus as in 90% of the works in multiplayer.
Your first paragraph there is nul and void.
And you started the argument idiot. It was a simple conversation and then you start saying things like "This just sounds like you being irrationally mad about a non-existent problem."
No one asked you to come involve yourself in my post meant for devs and not idiots like you. Constructive freedback isnt just hate because you dont agree with it. Get bent already
