I just love when developers randomly update their game 20 years later. Even though it’s so old, it plays perfectly now -better than many racing games of today. I don’t think any other derby game has felt better since then. The combination of great visual effects, sounds, and UI while crashing into other cars still hasn't been topped imo - even by the same developers Wreckfest. Those nitro and health animation bars are forever engraved in my brain. And the music in this game? It's something else. With all the NFS Unbound`s, I kind of forgot what good, fitting racing music feels like.

The only downside to this game is that it can get repetitive after the first half, but other than that, it’s just peak gameplay. What better time to try it (or revisit) than after its latest update, which added so much good content? Also, keep in mind that there’s an improved version of this game called FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage. I didn’t know about it when I picked this one up, so at least check it out. It improves on many aspects, but the music is different, and there’s no piss filter - so, big no from me 😡
