You need Steamless tool to unpack the .exe file and then hxd edit it. He probably didn't mention anything about it or something.

I'm on Proton 7.0-1. I followed the instructions but after applying Steamless tool and hexediting the executable it just crash when I try to run. Does anyone had success latelly on LInux?

For anyone having trouble with this, you don't need any of the other widescreen/ultrawide fixes that you might find on here or PCGamingWiki, like dgVoodoo or config file edits. Just apply the hex edit and set your resolution.

I can't find the first line of hex code that needs to be changed. I checked it multiple times...
I found the rest of the hex easily.
Someone should upload the modified .exe to a file sharing site (for example Google Drive) so people don't have to suffer with the hex editing. If someone could do that I would greatly appreciate it!

I used Steamless to unpack it and did the hex edits and for me, but it won't run on 3440 x 1440 screen gets messed up. The highest I can run is then 1920 x 1440. Do I need to somehow re-pack it?
The unpacked exe I renamed it to the DS.exe and overwrote the old one (made backup). But still not working right. Hope to solve this.

Just curious for anyone that got this working, can you paste your DS.cfg settings so I can compare? Thanks.

Thank you! I know nothing about this "steamless" step, so I couldn't find the first line too. But your already edited file works, I just have to set resolution to 3440x1440 in game menu. It would have been easier if the author of the discussion had made the already edited file available haha, So, thank you again
