While you can still keep playing in private servers, this means all the Leaderboards, Missions and all achievements related to those features do not exist anymore.

This also means that the badges are now related to the player level, as follows:

Ballistic was born around 8 years ago.

Aquiris was a young development studio and wanted to deliver an arcade arena shooter suited for all FPS lovers, as we were and continue to be.
We foresaw a real opportunity to deliver something different and worked hard to develop an experience unlike anything available at the time — remember, there were no names like Overwatch, Titanfall, or Rainbow Six Siege around.

Our game was meant to reach players who were looking for a pick-up and play shooter with simple gameplay that was intended to be social. To make sure that would happen, we chose the most disruptive and fittable platform available at the time: Facebook, who used to have a much bigger focus on games integrated in its core product.

Around a year later, for reasons both internal and external to Aquiris, we had to change our focus and take the game to a more hardcore platform. This proved to be the right decision at the time, and the move to Steam resulted in a much more complex gameplay. While revisiting the main mechanics, we had to question ourselves what could be improved to offer a better experience overall. The answer was to create a class-based FPS with a more sophisticated progression system.

Since we were leaving Facebook for Steam and changing much of our core gameplay, we decided a new brand was necessary. That is why in this process Ballistic became Ballistic Overkill, an identity more suited to its new focus and hardcore mechanics.

On Steam, we quickly reached a considerable number of consecutive players, in a way that was great and beyond our expectations. Unfortunately, supporting a game like this with frequent updates is no easy task, nor is it something cheap, especially for an independent studio like us. Even though we tried and availed multiple possibilities, we simply couldn't deliver a simple and efficient enough solution to offer the support you deserved and expected from us through 2019, and we apologize for that.

We knew we had to do something and couldn't leave the game at its current state. Something that didn't hurt even more your expectations and could reach ours.

We’ve decided to end our official support for Ballistic Overkill, but will keep the game alive for our engaged community. Starting January 31 2020, we’ll shut down our servers, Ballistic Protocols and online rankings. You'll still be able to play with your friends through the community servers, and the game will remain available on Steam.

Beginning today, Ballistic Overkill will adopt a symbolic price: US$ 1,99 for the base game, and the same amount will be charged for each DLC available. If you purchased the game beginning November 1st, you can get a full refund for your money. Just request a refund via Steam and we’ll be sure to fulfill every one of them, regardless of the time you spent playing the game since then.

This was a tough decision to make. The toughest in the life of the game so far. We know some of you will be frustrated by this, but we are confident this is the best solution. Thanks for all the support you've shown us through the years. Even though we've reached "The End", it will always be an honour to have served with you in the field for all this time. We'll never forget our moments of fun together!

The Juggernaut update is here and comes with a new game mode we’ve wanted to put in the game since time immemorial. Plus, it brings awesome new costumes for Shadow and Wraith, and some performance improvements.

Juggernaut is a new way to play Ballistic Overkill. In Juggernaut matches, a golden Chainsaw lies on the ground waiting to be picked up. The player who picks the weapon turns into the Juggernaut — a special class with tons of health, The Juggernaut will score points for every moment they are alive and yet more points for every player elimination. The other players must try to kill the Juggernaut, and they will score points proportional to the amount of damage dealt to them. The Juggernaut may seem OP, but all players know their location, This should add an interesting dynamic to Juggernaut games that you won’t see anywhere else. We’ve wanted to have this mode in the game for several years now, so we hope you like it as much as we do, we will be on the Steam comunity looking at any and all feddback you have.

Six new missions have been added to the game, these revolve around the new Juggernaut game mode! Head to the servers that with Juggernaut game mode with haste to complete these new missions and earn your rewards.

We're bringing the female versions of the Berserker and Marksman classes. Now all classes have one female skin available to everyone for free.

Two new skins have arrived! Get ready for ambush, sabotage and hit-and-run tactics with the Guerrilla version of Shadow. And La Muerte is a festive costume for the female Wraith that puts you in the right mood for reaping.

La mise à jour Halloween est là et avec son arrivée, vous pouvez vous attendre à voir du nouveau contenu et des fonctionnalités qui vous donneront de nouveaux défis à surmonter.

Nous allons présenter un nouveau coffre rempli de surprises basées sur Halloween tel que des skins élites, et le Couteau Citrouille “Légendaire”. Si vous parvenez à récupérer six de ces skins Citrouille, vous obtiendrez l’accessoire Tête de Citrouille.

Pendant qu’on est sur le thème d’Halloween, les matchs auront un petit quelque chose de plus du 30 au 31 Octobre. Jouez pendant ces deux jours pour découvrir ce qu’il y aura!

La prochaine fois que vous vous connecterez, vous verrez vos premières missions journalières sur la droite de votre interface. Ces missions vous proposerons des défis, tel que “Éliminer 10 ennemis”ou “Gagner 3 matchs Roi de la Colline”. Il y a actuellement plus de 90 missions différentes et variées.Il y a trois différents types de difficulté: facile, moyen et difficile. Quand vous complétez une de ces mission, vous obtiendrez une récompense qui contiendra 1, 2 ou 3 fragment(s) que vous pouvez utiliser pour obtenir des coffres.

Vous recevrez une nouvelle mission chaque jour et pouvez avoir jusqu’à trois missions active à n’importe quel moment. Il faudra s’assurer de compléter ces missions en temps opportun puisque si vous avez déjà trois missions actives, la plus ancienne sera remplacé lorsque vous recevrez une nouvelle mission.

Nous nous attendons à ce que ces missions journalières rendent le jeu plus amusants et diversifié, et si elles vous plaisent nous pourront l’étoffer avec davantage de choses plus tard. Néanmoins, notez bien que les missions journalières ne peuvent être compléter que sur les serveurs officiels et via “Jouer Maintenant” dans le menu principal.En plus des missions journalières, vous recevrez également des missions spéciales dont les premières qui seront disponibles dans les jours qui arrivent. Ces missions spéciales vous récompenserons avec un coffre de mission. À l’heure actuelle, les coffres que vous recevrez seront les coffres contenant les skins Halloween: avec du loot élite ou “Légendaire” garanti ! Votre première mission spéciale sera disponible bientôt, et les autres arriveront plus tard.

Aves ces nouvelles missions journalières, nous allons changer les taux de drop des coffres de 48h à 72h. Bien que vous pouvez toujours recevoir des coffres de manière passive, les joueurs actifs qui s’engagent à completer les missions journalières recevront en moyenne 3 coffres supplémentaire par mois - ceci inclus et garanti deux coffres de missions contenant du loot elite et légendaire.

Nous nous attendons à voir plus de joueurs en compétition sur les serveurs pendant qu’ils progressent dans leurs missions.

nouveaux skins de personnages sont maintenant disponibles! Le Grenadier se lance enfin dans l’action avec la tenue du Bombardier Fou. L’Éclaireur se déguise en Agent Secret au service de sa majesté. “Red Leader Shadow” est prêt à mener une équipe de ninjas acrobatiques à la victoire (j’adorerais voir ça). Et la Fusilière retourne à l’époque médiévale avec son armure de Croisée. Visiter la page du magasin et choisissez votre tenue préférée!

Après les retours de la communauté, nous mettons en place un petit correctif pour notre dernière mise à jour (Bloodlust). Cette mise à jour améliore l’expérience joueur dans le mode de jeu Rounds.

• Les statistiques de rounds n’étaient pas visible - maintenant elles le sont
  
  
• Nous avons diminué les exigences pour un match pour le mode de jeu Rounds. Au vu de la nature de ce mode de jeu, le temps de jeu est inférieur par rapport aux autres modes de jeu.
  
  
• L’information de l’UI dans l’onglet des classements affiche maintenant les matchs Rounds joués correctement;

Linux 32 bits se bloque toujours après l’écran titre. Pendant que nous enquêtons sur ce problème, merci d’utiliser la version 64 bits.

Le 1er Août, nous avons sorti la version bêta de la mise à jour “Rounds”. Depuis, nous avons rassemblé les retours de nos joueurs et ajouté un bon nombre de nos propres améliorations pour introduire la toute nouvelle mise à jour Bloodlust.

Cette mise à jour contient tout ce à quoi vous attendez de Ballistic Overkill, et plus encore… Vous nous avez dit que la mise à jour “Rounds” était trop passive. Plus maintenant - seuls les courageux réussiront, et les faibles seront vaincus.




Vous pouvez découvrir plus de détails concernant ce qui a été ajouté dans la mise à jour Bloodlust ci-dessous:

• Le mode de jeu Rounds est désormais affiché dans les classements - vous devez compléter 5 matchs de Rounds chaque mois pour apparaître dans le classement.
  
  
• Le mode de jeu Rounds est désormais affiché dans les classements hebdomadaires.
  
  
• Le temps d’échauffement de Rounds a été réduit de 36 à 24 secondes.
  
  
• Correction d’un bug dans Rounds où l’ennemi devient visible sur le radar lorsqu’il/elle est situé près de la base ennemie.
  
  
• Correction d’un bug sur la carte Reinstate qui permettait à l’équipe Smoke d’accéder à la carte trop tôt.
  
  
• Correction du bug message “Tué par” dans le mode Rounds.
  
  
• Ajout de l’état du match à la KillCam, pour que vous puissiez suivre votre équipe pendant le round actuel.
  
  
• Ajout du système Bloodlust au mode de jeu Rounds. Nous voulons encourager le combat et son agressivité, donc le plus vite vous éliminez un ennemi au début du match, le plus de points vous obtiendrez (mise à part les 15 points, vous obtenez un point toutes les 2 secondes jusqu’a ce que le round se termine, pour un maximum de 35 points). Par exemple sur un round de 1 minutes 30 secondes, vous pourriez avoir les scores suivants:
  Kill à 1:00, 45 points
  Kill à 0:42, 36 points
  Kill à 0:18, 24 points
  Et ainsi de suite…
  
  
• Les double kill, triple kill et Overkill vous donneront deux fois plus de points dans le mode de jeu Rounds.
  
  
• Dans le mode Rounds, les joueurs recevront le même nombre de points pour un kill et un assist.

• Armes de Mercenaire:
  Thumper: la cadence de tir a été légèrement diminuée.
  
  
• Armes de Vanguard:
  Jackhammer: le temps de rechargement a été légèrement augmenté et la taille du chargeur a été réduite de 8 à 7 munitions.
  Widower: les dégâts ont été légèrement diminués
  
  
• Armes de Tank:
  Mongoose: les dégâts et la cadence de tir ont été légèrement augmentés
  Rhino: le temps de rechargement a été légèrement augmenté
  Rampart: le nombre de munitions par tir a été réduit de 17 à 15.

Le runtime Core .net est passé de 2.0 à 4.0 (ceci devrait améliorer la fluidité sur les systèmes moins performants).

Today we can tell you that the BETA version of the Rounds game mode is LIVE!

For a full break down of what you can expect from this new exciting game mode read on...

• Maximum team sizes are set to 6 a side, if there are fewer players new
• players can join but they will have to wait until the next round begins.
  
• There are no team shields in this game mode.
  
• There is a cap of no more than 2 of the same class per team.
  
• When a player dies, they will enter Spectator Mode (there is no free view camera; players will only able to spectate players from their team).
  
• Once all players on a team have been eliminated the opposing team will win the round.
  
• If a round ends without all players dying, the team with the most players alive wins.
  The first team to (win?) 4 rounds wins.
  
• Each round has a maximum duration of 90 seconds.
  
• If the same amount of players are alive on each team when the round ends, the round will result in a draw with neither team secure a round win point.
  
• Balance changes - The Grenadier's life was dropped from 250 to 200.

This is a BETA version of the Rounds mode, we'll monitor feedback from the community in the next weeks and then launch the game mode officially.
