Game no longer works on windows

No idea what happened, havent played it in years and wanted to revisit this game. Sections logo pops up then its just a black screen.

I ended up finding a fix for it a few threads down, if that helps. Deleting a file made it all better. :)

It looked like a .flv file hung up at the start, ending up with a black screen and music in the background.

I deleted this file:
\\Steam\SteamApps\common\Vlad\video\logo-sectiongames.flv

This worked for me, after not having played this since 2015.

I have just installed it after 18 months of not playing it, and it played fine. I did have an old game I could have continued with, but I opted to start a new game, and even picked up an achievement. If you can get past the black screen using the instructions on here, you should be fine. I've even uninstalled flash on my computer. Hope this encourages you all to persevere.

False statement. I have windows 10 and it works perfectly by default.

Actually, this was a real thing for many users. It was because of support being dropped for Flash video by Adobe and modern platform vendors. Steam stopped selling Flash-based games altogether. This game uses Flash video in the introduction and a few points during gameplay further downstream. Fortunately, removing the .FLV mitigates the issue. There are some prior threads in this forum and others that discuss it in greater detail.

I guess the devs fixed it then since I haven´t done anything to th default install so thats great news for many I think now :)
