pressed U for steams, took a picture, then the notification lower right popped up.
click on steam view then screenshots then view on disk and there is the picture I just took
in folder
...\steam\userdata\mySteamID\760\remote\292030\screenshots
pressed f12 for witcher 3 screenshot. it appears in folder
Documents\The Witcher 3\screenshots
there are also windows screenshots, nvidia/amd screenshots, gamebar screenshots and many others
the photo mode works and it says "screenshot saved" whenever I press the button and yes I know I have to look for them in folder Documents\The Witcher 3\screenshots, but no matter how many photos I take, nothing will be saved in that folder. completely empty.
if the game saves correctly and your .settings files are being created, you should have permission to write screenshots to the folder.
does pressing U create the steam screenshots?
maybe delete the screenshots folder in the Documents\The Witcher 3 folder
then run the game and try again.
check windows event viewer and windows reliability history. might be an error msg.
maybe contact the devs. they should know which libraries/what mechanism is used to generate screenshots.
game created one this morning for me even after this weeks windows 11 updates and recent nvidia driver update.
