Should i get it?
i never played this type of game before, its super cheap so i think i might try it, my question is, do i need to play the previous series to understand the story?

No, you don't need to play them to understand the story, nor reading the books for that matter. There are only a few things from Witcher 2 that are disadvantageous for those who haven't played concerning decisions that shape Witcher 3 somewhat. But you can easily read up on that https://witcher.fandom.com/wiki/Imperial_Audience

Any other instance like character introduction, their relationship history to Geralt and whatnot is something you can pick up on easily as Witcher 3 was designed in a way it could be enjoyed by everyone, those with and without prior knowledge of the Witcher world.

You don't need to, but you'll understand some parts of the story better if you do.

Don't even think about touching this until you first play The Witcher: Enhanced Edition. I'm not even kidding around. It's $1.49 right now, so there's no excuse.

If you have any questions or problems with the game, don't hesitate to message me on my Profile Page.

To elaborate on what asarokk said, there's a quest near the start (Imperial Audience) where an officer will ask you a bunch of questions - this is supposed to simulate a Witcher 2 save (if you didn't play it or don't have the save). You probably read the link he provided, so I'll just tell it already: the only important question is if you spared Letho or not. Choose to spare him. All the other decisions will only change some quests here and there, but Letho changes the game more tangibly.

You're forgetting about Roche.

Yes, you should get it for this price.
But personally in 2024 I'd much rater play Elden Ring instead.
