This first part is only if you have never installed the update and currently have older version installed.

in the older versions you were required to download new game plus from the dlc page. it did not come with the game initially. if this is the case. you never installed the new update by blocking the install somehow. and you never actually installed the new game plus free dlc from the dlc page. do so.

If that situation does not apply to you disregard. The update got rid of the need to download the new game plus dlc by it being apart of the update. so if you have the update. you have new game plus installed.



Next im going to go over the steps you need to do to start new game plus on the offchance you overlooked something.


1st step. completion of the base game is required.

2nd step: On the opening menu of the game. click new game. this gives you multiple options. Fresh start, blood and wine only, hearts of stone only, and new game plus. (not in exact order)click new game plus.


3rd step: It will direct you to select a save that is after you have completed the base game. select the save.


You should be good to go from there after picking your options of whether you want the tutorials to be on and the options dealing with witcher 2 import or simulating witcher 2 choices.


Now that i have wrote how its supposed to work. and not exactly knowing at what point in that process you are prevented from doing. all i can say is the normal trouble shooting options. uninstall reinstall. validating files and incase you are using any mods. trouble shoot any mods you may have installed to see if they are the cause.

1 other thing, a triffle, but happens alot..... MAKE sure ya loading the completed game, and NOT the auto save almost completed game..

Yep, still wasn't working with manual saves. Re-installing rn.

Re-installed it. Still cannot play new game+
