No More Room in Hell 2

No More Room in Hell 2

Lets be positive, and productive with critique?
I can see why a lot of people were disappointed, jaded, or otherwise felt betrayed with how things happened on launch, so lets channel that energy into detailed and reasonable critiques instead! Despite the fact Torn Banner has a bad reputation, Redemption is something any person/any group/any organization CAN make, Pessimism is a very brain rotting, yet logical confirmation biasing thing that ruins ppls brains...

With that said, Please post all your grievances here I welcome it, Just keep it productive with solutions, and try not to repeat something already said in this discussion... and keep it civil (With the ones who defend the game, or critique it.)

Would like to see a good back and forth that could be seen by TB since they do add community feedback there is at least a little bit of redemption made so far like adding a urban map when everyone complained about the hospital map before when it was announced. Lets at least be a little good faith since they showed us meaningful feedback based updates.

I will start off with my own critiques, ones some may share or not!

- Zombies have priority when player swings melee weapon, Always getting hit even if the player pre-swings efficiently resulting in player taking damage even before zombie animation is halfway completed with a strike

- Runners are loud and make it easy to avoid with even slow reaction timing, and should be silent like their NMRIH1 counter parts IMO

-Runners currently can't infect players (Which is a huge part of the danger of the 1st game IMO if you haven't memorized a map layout and spawning yet.)

- Adrenaline shot is a 'passive' item, which both breaks the stamina Nerf changes and bypasses it, and its not even remotely realistic for a shot to be a 'passive' slot, it should be a CONSUMABLE ITEM, Like a Medkit or bandage.

- Torn Banner should be more open with communication and more frequent with said communications, Because trust works both ways.

Anywhoo, that's my short lazy list, feel free to add too this!

-Melee. I know we are getting a melee rework soon, and that's pretty good. The melee we have now works, and it feels good, but those of use who are used to the melee in nmrih1 will always be put off by it. It took a LONG time to burn away the muscle memory of hit+shove. That combined with no holding charged attacks always be screwing with my timing.

-Zombies. They don't look dead enough. I am willing to accept their appearance for now, as we are in the early stages of the war on the living dead. But imma need them to look more dead as we get more maps. Torn ligaments, flayed/degloved/rotting skin, missing limbs, give them a good reason to be crying in pain.

-Revive syringe. Of all the things I like about this game, this is the one I really don't like. A "get out of jail free card" has no place in a game as hardcore as this.
my biggest hate in the game is melee, zombies connect to you via Bluetooth from far away and hard to avoid their hits

I'm honestly just excited for the pseudo extraction/loot mechanics, like a pve hunt showdown.

Yeah it happens too me sometimes too, mostly in matches where my ping is higher then normal, but also when I am standing on a car and move slightly it sometimes triggers them to attack (Dont move around ledges with low height they can't climb lol)

I mean it overall fits the NMRIH game, you were always escaping or being extracted in one way, shape or form haha. By helicopter, By foot, By vehicle, By boat.

Until we get to choose difficulty and it is easier to host own matches/server, I want the syringe to stay. Trolls were and still are a very real problem in the first game. And the sequel punishes us for dying. I had gotten knocked down by indirect explosion just in front of the chopper and it took them almost 20 seconds to decide to help me. I could know exactly what the bastards were thinking and want no part of it.

Uh, no melee is still a mess. If you played more than 20 hours of this game you would know it needs a lot more polishing.

I agree its not the best, in fact I figured out in my 100ish hours of playing at some point that the zombies have priority of registering attack vs the players, They don't even need to finish 50% of their attack animation to register a hit when you are about to hit them yourself.
the biggest issue is the spawning and quantities. l4d has some great inspiration with its director system to take from

I should be able to clear through a wave.

There's never any down time, and they just appear from nowhere... have them migrate into the area, magically spawning behind me is super lame.

more objectives: break into lab to cure patient X, grab 20 food supplies and 10 bandages. destroy zombie nest .etc

That explains a helluva lot. I thought I was just timing my hits wrong, that makes much more sense.

Never said it didn't need polishing. I just said it was good, and that it's good we are getting a rework. Maybe read next time?
