Turn-based PoE - Pillars of Eternity en route Q4 2025,
I sucked at party management when I wanted to play this, now, it's all i can think about after years of Turn based titles;
So I'm learning, and playing, and using all the GUI elements to get this right this time.

It's a deep game, and it relies heavily on your observation skills, party management, and playing strategically to keep as many of your party members alive.
There are many hidden objects nestled into the detailed landscapes that adorn each level. There are traps, and your method of movement and perception is what will help reveal them.

Some maps require specific paths to be taken, if you want to progress.
The animations are beautiful, but ultimately, this is an isometric CRPG with a camera that can zoom in and out, but not around the map/ models. So your vision needs to be spot on to help you find all the threats, or secret loot ;:)

Lots to enjoy, and my time is limited so far, but the story is good. The animations, the level design, everything is spectacular, and immersive, for being in a foreign new world.
Don't be shy to ask the NPC's questions. It helps a lot for the expanding of topics/ small exposures to new topics.

OH< you also have a stash tab for ALL your loot/gear you want to sell, and it's always there, available when you need it. You don't need to travel to any specific destinations/back and forth to access your loot Stash; :)
The inventory system is also smart enough to allow you to hold CTRL and select multiple items from multiple characters to drag and drop into your stash! :) it's very seamless!!

Double left click to designate move there, and move camera there upon second click.
The combat: can be double speed, half speed, or paused to help you figure out your tactics. It's always been this way since release. So, turn based tactics is going to make this even more attractive to a larger audience.

Brilliant game. Lots of lore to find, and be enriched by. This is a world we are going to fix/change :)

There are also so many settings automatically on, that it's wise to turn auto-levelling of your other characters off.

I tried this first about a decade ago, not long after the Kickstarter, and I found it a bit forbidding to get into, a bit staid, and the combat messy. With Avowed releasing I decided to give it another shot; not really expecting to play too long. Well, I finished it, with DLC, all companion quests, leaving only a handful of bounty quests undone. What changed? Well, I did. I'm a decade older, and my tastes shifted. But also I felt like the bittersweetness of the themes and the deepness of the characters beneath their outwardly tropey exteriors was more accessible to me now. I also turned on the "auto-pause on almost every combat event trigger" and that made the combat feel a lot more coherent to me. Finally, before I dove in, I read the supplemental material: the Collectors Book, the Almanac, the maps. Going in with that grounding was tremendously rewarding, feeding right back into the characters and events of the game. This is one to luxuriate in; not rush through.
